The house was exactly like the photos and in a jungleish setting. The house is partially thatched with nothing but screens for the downstairs portion. We stayed in mid February which the temperatures are not that bad yet in Tulum, but I would consider somewhere else in the summer months, this place would be unbearably hot without AC. The Tulum... We booked Vida Silvestre for our honeymoon last month, and unfortunately while there are some lovely aspects of the property, for us the trip was extremely disappointing, and would not be enough for us to recommend it to anyone. Trying to give a fair and balanced review, so here goes: THE GOOD -the location is within walking distance to two... More

I thought that Vida Silvestre was very beautiful, and I can't say enough good things about our wonderful host - however, I can't help but write this review because the place is filled with bugs. My friends and I booked 2 cabins for 5 nights, and ended up barely surviving 3 nights here. We are pretty tough travelers, but at... More

We made a reservation to stay at Vida Sylvestre for this April. At the time we booked the reservation, the property told us there was beach access at Las Ranitas across from the hotel. We later learned that Las Ranitas was closed. The property owner claims they did not know Las Ranitas was closed, which seems difficult to believe given... More

We stayed here for about a week and unfortunately, this place did not live up to our expectations. Tulum is a great place for some relaxing days off with a somewhat odd mix of relaxed, low-key atmosphere but upmarket prices for hotels. This place has a great idea behind it: Stay in open villas in the jungle and awake to... More

We really enjoyed our time at Vida Silvestre. We had a very warm welcome from the groundskeeper and his very cute dog, and Laury was a very kind hostess. The villa had everything we needed and it was very peaceful. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that we went to go swimming in the pool but it... More

You can't be closer to nature than at Vida Silvestre. The five houses are made of wood and stone and do not have glass windows - just mosquito nets. They are beautifully designed and are very cosy. Don't expect any city extras as AC, TV or hair-dryers: you don't need them in paradise. During our four week stay we have... More

Without knowing anything about Tulum, this experience was a 10 for surprise and a 10 for convenience and a 10 for awesome. Vida Silvestre embodies the concept that you are in a jungle habitat, but literally a 5 minute walk from the beach and the type of Hotel that with the right attitude, it is a supreme place to stay.... Vida Silvestre was the perfect way to experience Tulum and feel like a local in a way. The location is wonderful, as it is almost at the end of the main strip of hotels and restaurants along the beach. It is close to the entrance of Sian Ka'an and right across the street from the beautiful beach. It feels nicely... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Sonia was friendly and helpful, and Oscar (the caretaker) and Mari (who cleaned our villa everyday) were also very nice and accommodating. The villa was comfortable, and had some lovely design elements. Our king size bed was comfortable, and I felt like I was in a tree house in our upstairs bedroom, but with... More

“Villas 3 & 4 are nearest the front gate, so if your shades are open, people could theoretically see in to your living & dining room area as they walk to their villa. In fact, with only 5 villas, and with all the jungle-y vegetation around, it did not turn out to be a problem. By the way, the address is Km. 9, but Vida Silvestre is slightly past Dos Ceibas which is listed as Km.10.”
