I stayed at mamas for 3 days and loved it there. Great food, friendly people, and very central. I had difficulty sleeping there though because of the air being set too high by others and no privacy in the 6 room dorm. That was my only issue.

You can take ADO bus from the airport! Each terminal has ADO bus. Just ask for it. They come often and we went from Tulum directly to the airport, so there are likely buses going that way. If not, you can always take ADO bus to Playa del Carmen, another big resort beach city, and then a taxi for one hour.
