Villa Matisse is ideally situated just off the main road - far enough away from the noise, but close enough to walk or bike everywhere. Lourdes the owner has a great personality and is very helpful. The rooms are well looked after. There are bikes to use free of charge, and a small kitchen if you don't want to eat...

I stayed at Villa Matisse for 6 nights and my stay was perfect! I had a room on the 3rd floor with 2 fans and it was fine even in August heat. The room was a really nice size, with private bath and a hammock in the room, too. The price was very fair, there is a shared kitchen and...

I live in Tulum but stayed a few nights at Villa Matisse to get away from my sometimes unbearably noisy neighborhood. It was such a relief to stay there, in the end I didn´t want to leave! Lourdes is super sweet and made me feel right at home. The room was perfect - a very clean, well-ventilated room with high-quality...

We visited Villa Matisse on our honeymoon, We were initially planning to stay there one night and then move to one of the cheaper hotels on the beach. However, Villa Matisse felt so much like home that we ended up staying a full week! It's not located on the beach but we found that the short distance to the Tulum...

We stayed here for 2 nights and were thrilled. The trick to staying in tulum is deciding between the beach and the town. We chose the town, and were really glad we did. Firstly it's cheaper than staying on the beach. You can go to a supermarket if you don't want to go to a restaurant. You get better rooms...

We stayed 2 nights at the villa Matisse And it was great Time. So warm welcome from Lourdes, the owner. Its in Tulum pueblo so only 5min, $3 for the playa and so close to buses, restaurant, bank. Hôtel is really quiet, And really clean. This is really good value. Thanks to Lourdes for her hospitality

Villa Matisse is just far away from the noise of Tulum's main highway and central zone to provide a quiet night's sleep. Lourdes, the landlady, was most welcoming and showed us to a basic but spotlessly clean double room for our two-night stay. There was no air-conditioning but we had a ceiling fan and a free-standing one too, plus a...

Stayed at Villa Matisse for 8 nights with a friend. We just loved it there, and Lourdes the owner makes it a really lovely experience. She gives recommendations for places to go, directoions, arranges trips - and all with a lovely smile and a lot of fun. There is a block of 6 identical rooms each with 2 double beds...

We had a great stay here, we tried the Weary Traveller, and El Cruzero first (recommended by LP) who both offered us a s**ty room. Finally we went to the supposedly more expensive Hotel Villa Matisse, but or the same amount of money we stayed in this little gem!! Please go here straight away!!

Great small guesthouse, with a very nice owner called Lourdes. We never had such a friendly and sincere welcome at a hotel before. The guesthouse has only six rooms, an outdoor kitchen and bikes you can take whenever you want. You can cycle to the beach or to the Tulum site. The breakfast is great and included. It's located at...
