I booked this hotel because I loved the idea of being in our own little house secluded from everyone. I was disappointed to find that it didn’t feel private. They have people working on the grounds constantly. So at any point in time there were seven men standing right outside looking into the room. I never felt comfortable enough to spend time on the patio with them two feet away just staring. Even my husband felt it was weird how much time they spent right in front of our room. You don’t need several men to rake sand. The room itself was beautiful. They have mosquito spray which I thought was nice. They bring coffee and tea daily to you. The shower was awesome too. One downside is that they turn off the air from 9-6. You can ask them to turn it back on but they took several hours to respond and get it working. They are really small so the front desk are only there for a part of the day. We mostly interacted with the security guard for help with checking in, taxis or things to do. They have a good restaurant. The food is delicious but pricey. We ate there several times and never had a bad meal. Most of the staff were really nice and helpful. Overall, it’s a cute place but if I come back to Tulum I think i will try another hotel for some more privacy.

We booked an ocean front villa 4 months out. 38 days before our trip they emailed to inform us that the entire resort will be closed for an entire month to remodel and our reservation was canceled. Since we are now so close to the date of our trip there is hardy any availability and prices are sky high. We booked when we did to get a reasonable rate and to lock in the dates. Will never do business with Kai or any of its related properties which is a shame because it came highly rated from friends that have stayed.

I cannot say enough great things about Kai Resort, the location, the staff, the food. We enjoyed every moment of our stay there! You get your own bungalow, it’s clean and nice appointed, and just a minute walk to the beach. There’s a restaurant where you can get a daybed and just lounge there all day tanning and enjoying food and drinks. Its not crowded and has a very relaxing vibe. They bring you coffee to your balcony every morning at the time you requested. Tulum ruins are 20 minutes walking distance away, a must see! Kai was recommended to us by a friend who stayed there like 10 times. I thought he was obsessed but now I am too! See you in January 2022 again ;)

The whole staff was beyond helpful and amazing, especially Gerardo who took care of us most of our stay for food and drinks and anything else in between. Nos ayudó con todo. He even even went out of his way to secure us a ride to the airport (shoutout to Ricardo!). Gracias a Alejandro y Felipe también! Lo hemos pasado muy bien en Kai Tulum. Estamos emocionados para regresar un día. Chloé y Todd X

We stayed 4 glorious nights at Kai Tulum with our two kids ages 13 and 10. We were in a double suite with partial ocean view and it was so worth the extra $$. We were tucked away in the corner with no one in front of us. Every morning my husband and I enjoyed our coffee on the patio and looked out at the beautiful Aqua blue ocean. It was such a nice touch having coffee delivered to our patio every morning and they even brought our kids a glass of milk! Check in was very easy and they helped us bring our heavy luggage to our bungalow. Every morning there was someone cleaning up the area in front of the rooms; ranking, picking up leaves and clearing any other fallen debris. We enjoyed many meals at the Kai restaurant and beach club. The servers are so attentive and kind! Josue, we are going to miss you!! We don’t drink so sometimes I feel like our servers are a little put off by that but not Josue! Thank you for making us feel so special! We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
