Travellers' Choice
El Pez evokes the feeling of a private villa on the beach, with all the amenities of a small boutique hotel. Featuring six Luxury Cabanas, four Sea Front King Rooms and Two Sea View King Rooms, suitable for solo travelers, couples and families, El Pez is situated at picturesque Turtle Cove, where the Mayan fisherman and pelicans create a visually stunning seascape from the hotel balconies and around the hotel grounds. The setting is both intimate and romantic and a stunning backdrop for family gatherings & romantic getaways.

This was the very first time I experienced a hotel with a proper concierge service, and they most certainly delivered. My partner and I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday, and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make me feel special. We got a room with a private balcony, and there was nothing better than to relax in the hammock while listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Some notable staff members include: Gil and Seima at concierge, Alberto, Samuel, and Pablo at the restaurant, and the lovely cleaning crew! Thank you to all for making this vacation unforgettable!

Hotel's Favourite
This treasure is just what I wanted to celebrate a wedding anniversary and birthday. Large beautiful and tranquil room just steps from the beach: we literally opened the door and walked to the chaise lounges with umbrellas where we stayed all day. I could not have asked for more. Delicious juice concoctions available along with other goodies on the menu. Service was superb and it was easy to either have dinner on site or close by. This place is for those of you looking for a quieter, more peaceful experience in the Colibri family. I would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommended!! .

We stayed in the Caribbean View Deluxe room for six very relaxing days in Tulum. Our goal was to go on a getaway that helped us disconnect - and El Pez is the perfect setting for that. The room was even larger in person than the photos look online, and the best part is the huge private balcony - we spent every morning drinking our coffee on the balcony. The morning coffee delivery was one of my favorite parts of our stay! We ended up eating at El Pez restaurant more than we thought we would - the food was really impressive to us, and we are foodies from Los Angeles. They fish tacos were probably the best I have ever had. We ended up running through the entire menu. The fried whole fish was our favorite. But the star of the entire show at El Pez is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was kind, caring, and responsive to our needs. Gilberto, Seima, Denisse, and Arturo were the best hosts you could ask for. From booking tours, making dinner reservations, hailing cabs, and booking our car to and from the airport, they were just amazing. They made us feel special every day. Tulum is a rapidly developing and interesting travel destination, make sure to do your research before you go. You're in the jungle! You cannot throw your toilet paper in the toilet anywhere, the roads is bumpy, and you will see mosquitos and seaweed. WE LOVE YOU EL PEZ! PS - get a massage at their partner hotel, Mi Amor~!

We stayed here for 3 nights in a upstairs beachfront room. The views are incredible and I can only imagine if there wasn't seaweed everywhere in Tulum what a great beach this would be. This hotel is on the edge of the hotel zone next to the public beach. We did not hear much noise and would have liked a little separation from each room, but despite this great balcony. It is was 35-40 minute walk to main strip and the taxi will cost about $20 each way or you can rent a bike for 24 hours for $20 (i think). Delicious breakfast for two will run about $30-40 with tip no cocktails. The rooms with balconies are spacious with ample restroom areas. The beds are a little hard, but with a view its worth it. Although this is a 3 star hotel their staff makes it 5 stars. Saima at the front desk was such a beautiful and kind person that made us feel like family despite a travel mix up. Everyone at El Pez was super accommodating and helpful arranging a Covid test for our flight home.

Quieter area in the beginning of the beach hotels, la bigger pool than appears in pic, nice small beach area, lots of places to sit and relax and very clean rooms. Wonderful food at the restaurant including good smoothies and juices. The service was excellent! My one star removal is because they don’t have a shuttle to their other hotel, La Zebra and their pool is not to lounge in as it’s deep. Otherwise it’s a wonderful place. So we made the best of it! We walked to La Zebra every day (40 min on the beach which was a great workout!) to use their pool as it was larger and the whole thing was only 3.5’ deep so my daughter loved it! Also, La Zebra is right next to the best yoga place…the Sanara Hotel and try The Real Coconut restaurant there too—best gluten free/grain free place in the world! And make sure to eat at Kitchen Table, a 6 min walk from El Pez but load up on bug spray first as I came back with so many mosquito bites!
