Need a place to "chillax"? This place works for us. With a short flight from Miami, and a 30 minute ride from the airport, we can be on the beach by late morning/early afternoon. The service is second to none, with everyone from the butlers to beach personnel to wait staff

I must say that this whole experience is quite expensive, however it’s worth it. From the arriving at the front desk you can feel the difference. They take you to your suite in a nice quiet boat. The suite is so comfortable and cosy that it’s hard to leave. The food is great

Response from Rosewood M, General Manager at Rosewood Mayakoba
Responded 4 Feb 2019
Dear Omi_Wan, Thank you for your five-star review. It is a pleasure to learn that your experience at Rosewood Mayakoba was well-worth your journey to Mexico. On that note, we would like to sincerely apologize if our beach-grooming vehicles—which we use to keep our pristine, white-sand ocean front free of unwanted seaweed—prevented you from fully enjoying your time here. Your comfort is our utmost priority. Having said that, we are quite pleased to hear that the rest of your stay was exceptional. We pride ourselves on our luxurious accommodations and world-class dining. With more than 100 labels of premium tequila and ocean-fresh sushi, Agave Azul is certainly a highlight. In the future, we would relish at the opportunity to host you again, and we sincerely hope that you will visit us soon. Sincerely, Daniel Scott Managing Director

We stayed at the Rosewood Mayakoba when it first opened in 2008 and 2010. We found it to have great accommodations, a nice beach, good food but only average service. We were pleased they have FINALLY upped their game with the service! The level of service is superb and rivals

My wife and 3 kids (Ages 7,5,3) recently visited the Rosewood Mayakoba and consider it the best family trip we have ever taken. You may pay a little more up front, but it is worth every penny. We arrived in Cancun and choose to get a car from Rosewood to pick us up. We were met

Dear kmpicciano, Thank you for your questions! We do not permit swimming in the lagoons. Rosewood Mayakoba’s lagoons and mangroves make up a very delicate ecosystem that is abundant with a variety of wildlife. We pride ourselves in taking every precaution to have a minimal impact on this extraordinary natural habitat, which is why we use non-motorized boats in the lagoons and have a resort biologist!

In 2017 we completed a $13 million USD restoration project and gained over 30 meters of beach front in a sustainable long-term project to protect our coral reef! Murkiness and seaweed are typically not issues for our Caribbean, however ocean conditions and other environmental phenomenon, known as Sargasso, may contribute to these less than perfect conditions from time to time. To combat these occasional unpleasantries, the resort has a dedicated staff who work to keep the beach clean and seaweed free! Another reason to visit our beach is Aquí Me Quedo, the adults-only beachfront oasis that debuted this past winter. Complete with three plunge pools, a Mexican cantina serving Caribbean fare and fresh coconuts from a retro food truck and indoor-outdoor lounge space Aquí Me Quedo is a destination not to be missed! For more information about our resort please contact our Reservation Department. Muchas gracias!

Are there currently any renovations going on that would affect a stay during early February?
Dear TMandy1101, Thank you for your interest in Rosewood Mayakoba! To answer your question, no, there will not be any renovations that would affect your stay in February. In fact, we just debuted our adults-only beachfront oasis Aquí Me Quedo at the beginning of December. Complete with three plunge pools facing the turquoise sea, indoor/outdoor lounge spaces and our beloved La Cantina food truck serving refreshing drinks and local bites all day, Aquí Me Quedo is a destination not to be missed! For more information about the resort happenings please visit our website or contact our Reservations Department to make to confirm your stay with us. We hope to see you on our white sand beach soon!

Dear David H, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your safety when visiting Playa del Carmen and other areas of the Riviera Maya. We understand your concern and want to reassure you of your safety while visiting Rosewood Mayakoba. We want to be very clear and offer you the most factual information possible. The U.S. Department of State's Travel Advisory for Mexico and specifically for our destination remains at the same Level 2 as it has for years (and at the same level as other countries frequently visited by tourists like the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, as a point of reference). Over 35 million international tourists who visit Mexico and the Riviera Maya each year leave with fond memories, many of them returning every year. Many international retirees, expats, professionals and investors call this area home, including many Rosewood colleagues who have chosen to live and work in the area with their families, as this area is well known for its peaceful environment, warm weather and beautiful surroundings. Rosewood Mayakoba is located in a private 1,600-acre gated resort community, regarded as one of the safest in Mexico due to its high safety standards. There is one main entrance point for all guests, guarded 24/7, and all guests are cross-referenced with a master list of arrivals provided by the resorts in the community. In addition, Rosewood’s security team is present throughout the resort, monitoring 24/7. Our security personnel receive constant training with global standards and are always ready to assist. We remain diligent in our follow-up of any incident and are in close contact with the Department of Tourism, local authorities and the Federal Government, who work with the General Consulate of the United States in Mexico to continue developing programs to ensure the safety of all visitors and residents. Please be assured that our commitment has always been and will always be to continue working tirelessly to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all our guests and associates. We hope to welcome you to our tropical paradise soon!
