The Royal Haciendas All Suites Resort & Spa garners high marks for its cleanliness and engaging activities, alongside the staff's friendly and attentive service. Despite its serene location with stunning views, guests have called out the inconvenience of not being centrally located. Room experiences seem to vary, with some travelers facing challenges over weekends and with room quality. While the atmosphere is praised for its relaxing vibe, the value perception is tarnished by high food costs and additional expenses, prompting desires for more dining options and streamlined reservation processes.

We returned February 18th from an amazing 10 night vacation at The Royal Haciendas. This was our 5th week or longer stay at this delightful resort. It excels at what we love about Mexico and its people. The staff was friendly and gracious and the food was delicious, especially at the Los Murales Restaurant. My wife has Alpha-gal which is a serious allergy to red meats like beef and pork. The staff went above an beyond to make sure that she had tasty meals that avoided cross contamination with red meat. The head chef came to our table at several meals to discuss my wife's food restrictions and preferences, and prepared special meals for her on several occasions. In addition to its caring staff, this resort has a spacious and beautiful beach with plenty of palapas, beautiful pools, relaxing hot tubs and many interesting activities. We plan to return again to this fantastic resort.

This is our 5th year returning to this beautiful resort. Yes, we are owners but as regular travelers we have high standards based on experience. If this resort was substandard in any way I'd say so. I've posted reviews in past years which listed the many virtues of the Royal Haciendas (we truly do love the place) so this year I will cover different ground. Let's talk about safety which I know is often a concern of travelers. Now, if we are fair to this part of Mexico, the safety concerns are no different than what could be said about most areas if the USA. Stay out of sketchy areas and you'll be totally fine. We regularly go into the tourist area of Playa Del Carmen and it's a fun and entertaining experience. There are MANY great restaurants and, in addition to the many trinket shops, there are quite a few higher end and name brand stores. We have stayed in town as late as midnight before easily catching a taxi and heading back to the resort. At NO time did we ever feel anything but safe and secure. Also, my wife and I like to briskly walk 4 miles a day for exercise and we are able to do so entirely within the gated resort. It's a safe and beautiful scenic walk.

The resort offers an all-inclusive package which I highly recommend. Before the Royal Haciendas I had had only two other all-inclusive vacations and was not happy with either of them. I am convinced that it was attributable to the fact that resort was strutted as purely all-inclusive. Royal Haciendas has it as an option so they aren't forcing food and beverages on you that other people wouldn't buy. The poolside restaurant where we had lunch daily served fresh high quality dishes that were made to order and could be customized. The alcohol was top shelf. I'm not trying to portray all the restaurants as five star but I assure you that you'll find options that will more than satisfy you.

My wife and I walked couple of miles in both directions down the beach and this place is unquestionably the jewel of the area. But there is a new large resort under construction next door (nothing that is heard or seen from our area) and when complete (late 2020) it should offer additional dining and possibly night life options without leaving the gated community.

The attention to detail and making sure this place is spotless and well maintained shows everywhere you turn. We love this place and are looking forward to going back next December.

We had a terrific week at The Royal Haciendas during the whole COVID timeframe. Gio made us welcome from the start by assisting us to our beautiful room and answering all of our questions.
Resort was very accommodating to provide many hand sanitizer stations, masks in the room and they were sure that all staff wore not only masks but also goggles. Staff was always spraying and cleaning and offering us hand sanitizer. Tables at restaurants were social distanced.
Staff was terrific. Everyone bent over backwards to serve us. Our fav beach servers were Carlos and David! We kept them busy! At the pool lunch stop, Juan, Felix and his brother all took perfect care of us. Also, Angeles was our maid and she rocked! Room was always spotless and restocked.
Food at the restaurants was good.
Our 2 bedroom unit was amazing. Very spacious, beautiful view, great balcony with comfortable furniture. Beds and bedding were also very nice. Also stocked well for kitchen needs. Loved the spa products in the bathroom.
Beach was great, clean and lots of chairs.
The whole resort was very well maintained. The grounds landscaped beautifully, lots of flowers and trees, with some fountains.
Swimming pool with swim up bar, amazing.
I give this resort 5 stars, well deserved.
I recommend this resort and hope to stay there again in October. Thanks to all of the staff for making us welcome!

The staff was very conscientious about making sure they wore masks and supplied hand sanitizer. At the buffet dinner they ask the guests to wear their masks and they make sure guests aren’t serving themselves. The biggest problem I have is the guests are not following social distancing and the hotel isn’t enforcing it.

Guests walk around without masks and even though they reduced the amount of umbrellas and chairs around the pool, i had 2 days in a row where guests placed themselves too close to me and my family and the staff not only allowed it, they carried the chairs and umbrellas over and helped them. I brought it up with the staff and nothing was done so I’m forced to abandon our place at the pool/beach.

I really wish the hotel would make a point of enforcing social distancing during this global pandemic. I came here because of the commitment to safety and Covid rules. If not for this I would have rated this place 5 stars however my families safety is far more Important than good service and nice accommodations.

The Royal Haciendas got beautiful property, huge hurricane ready structures. We were stuck when hurricane Zeta decided to sweeps by. The resort did what they can to accommodate all guests safety. Communication is the key, and we were missing that, they left messages on the room’s telephone, who stay in the room just to check the phone?

We traveled a lot and this resort is ok if you just need a place to sleep and going on to you excursions or doing nothing but enjoy the pools, yes this resort got quite a bid of pools.

The beach at the resort is swimmable, there are a few rocks and tree roots. We were not impressed with the food selections, event they rotated the menu every night. The foods at the Grill are better than the restaurants.

Most of the stuff were friendly, David Chimal, who work at the pool grill were super friendly and Jeremiah were the two that we interact with the most, because they both seem like they really enjoy their job and the resort lucky to have them.

They got microwave, coffee maker , mini-fridge,iron, iron board, toaster and kitchen utensils, and table ware. The large safe in the room so you can store your important belongings.

Luscious greens, well kept ground, and huge tiles walkway through out the resort. There are a few spots that they need light on the walkway to illuminate the steps that may prevent accident when you had a few of those drinks.

There is a market in side the resort, where you can buy your grocery, and much more gear toward those who like to cook their own foods.

Despite bad services, unfriendly staff, and Zeta we made great moments, meet new people, made new friends.

At the Royal Haciendas resort they got Concierge people, who will take you to your room when you first check in. Their job is to offer you their services such as to be a club member, excursions, activities and such.

We took the free shuttle from the Royal Haciendas to Playa dar Carmen( free going-return cost $3.00) walk the 5th Avenue strips and made the best of it.

There are plenty of pools, teens games room, tennis, basketball ,and much more if walking the beach not your thing. Chill by the pool, soaking on sun bathing and watch the world goes by and forget about the real world for a bit.

I read the reviews before we booked it. I thought the people complaining about this being an “owners only” resort were being dramatic. I have been to other resorts that also have timeshare owners and never felt singled out in those. Royal Haciendas, however, was very different. From the beginning you get a different band if you are a paying guest. We went with two other families. We were one of the few people on the resort that were not “owners”. Very difficult to book hotel reservations, first I had to beg and plead and then I had to argue... no other resorts that I stayed at in the past had this issue. Then you go to your dinner reservation and look around and see all these empty tables. Who exactly are they being saved for? Can’t book the reservations even the day before unless you are an owner.
Then the owners themselves make you feel less worthy. Got into an argument with an “owner” over reserving pool chairs. Unless you want to lounge on the cement floor by the pool all day, You have to get up at 6 am to reserve your chairs by the pool. Five minutes after I threw my towels on the chairs, this “owner” comes up and starts removing mine to put his own there. Luckily I was still around and saw him do that, and called him out on it. He “very rudely” reminded me that he knew I was not an owner since I had a different color band on and if he saw that I left these chairs unattended for 90 minutes, he would make sure I would lose them.
Food was ok and rooms were clean (ok but so is every other resort we go to in Mexico). Service has never been this terrible and other guests have never been this hostile at the other resorts. You have to make sure you order an hour before you think you will want to eat your food by the pool during lunchtime, because that is how long it will take for them to bring it out to you.
Please don’t advertise this resort for “regular guests” if you plan to cater to the “owners” only. We didn’t stay here for free so don’t treat the “non owners” like second class citizens please.

Our mission every day is to exceed expectations and create unforgettable moments for all our guests at every opportunity. We offer a sincere apology for the long wait for your food during lunchtime, we have shared your comments with our Food and Beverage Manager to ensure we guarantee all our guests the wait time they deserve, especially when you are on vacation and we want all our guests to feel pampered and relaxed. We truly hope you give us the opportunity to serve you again in the future, we will make sure your stay is full of memorable and pleasant experiences. Warm regards.

Great resort with all inclusive packages right on the beach with multiple pools and hot tubs. Excellent, attentive staff and good COVID safety precautions. Hand sanitizing stations everywhere along with free masks and sanitizing wipes in the room. Employees all wear masks, safety glasses, and gloves. Free COVID testing on site prior to returning to the U.S. I joined friends who have been multiple times and staff remembered them by name. Excellent service at the pool from Juan Gutierrez and Carlos. I enjoyed beach yoga classes and pool fitness classes including aqua zumba with Manu, Jonathan and Fredo. Lots of activities including bingo, water polo, and volleyball. My friends daughter loved Kids Club and the amazing staff there, the new aqua park just opened for kids in addition to the kids pool and indoor activities from 9am-5pm at the Kids Club as well as nightly kids events from 6pm-8pm. Alfredo Salvatierra at the Members Lounge was so helpful with taking copies of passports required for COVID testing and printing all the forms we needed for our flight home. Great service at the pool bar, indoor Rotonda Bar, incredible food at Los Murales. Kinoko was delicious however its a newer restaurant and was very busy so they're likely still working out service delays.

Friendly, cheerful staff. Nicely landscaped.
Ileana, the activities person, was very courteous and knew what she was doing! She was very attentive to the guests and adapted the yoga and water aroebic classes as needed.
The accommodations for the Super Bowl party was the best yet! Excellent food. Really good pre-game, performance!
I liked that they did not serve alcohol until 10:00 or 11:00!

After 2 months closure due to COVID - 19, the Royal Haciendas has reopened better than ever. During it's closure, all governmental recommendations for safety and sanitation have been instituted resulting in the receipt of the state's highest certification for cleanliness. A new, exciting Asian restaurant opened and the new Member's Lounge has been completed. Both are fabulous! New experiences have been added and the staff, always known for their friendliness and kindnesses, treat their guests as royalty. Beautiful 2 bedroom/2 bathroom villas, soft white sandy beaches, multiple large pools, a beautiful setting with well kept landscaping, and the most amazing staff are to be found at the Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen. As always, it is my family's "Happy Place"!

Efficient check in compared with other Mexican resorts. The guests are respectful in terms of noise. Light sleepers may hear the air conditioning cycle on and off. The curtins do a good job of room darkening.

The special care for covid was quite good.

Be warned there is no room cleaning on Sunday so be sure you don't track in any sand or your spouse may give you grief...

Members do not have to take the all inclusive package. But if you rent from a member you get the member privilege of not having to get the all inclusive package and thus avoiding the resorts sub par food. Playa Del Carmen restaurants are a short taxi ride or long walk away.

Our room had a comfortable bed that was a little worn but not so much to give you a back pain like some other resorts in Mexico.

No. Theme nights are limited to dining options in the main dining area Palapas Del Sol and revolve around 7 culinary themes like Asian night, Italian night, etc. This is not a party palace. It is very much geared toward families.

Resort is located on the beach. It is marked off with swimming areas. However can get rough if it is windy. As with all of Mexico in this area. There has been some beach erosion and sargum exists. Resort works hard to keep it cleaned up as much as possible

The beaches have suffered from erosion and hurricanes. There’s a plan for repair; however, there is little beach to enjoy. I should state that there is more beach now than there was in October. People still enjoy sitting under the palapas on the beach, but I’m a pool girl. Not a fan of sand.
