We had the unfortunate experience of staying in this dump for two nights. It was booked through our travel agent and so we really had no idea what we were walking into. We had a "private room" on the bottom floor, which was actually just a dorm room with two bunk beds (our bed was the one with the double...

The 'pool' is akin to a green murky paddling pool, the 'breakfast' is just coffee, but what most annoyed me is that when I asked the manager to turn the air con on at 10pm he said 'we don't turn it on until 11pm' despite the fact that I pleaded with him that I was lying in bed sweating and...

Very nice ambiance in the posada.Lot of people are staying for weeks or months here. Music, little pool, friendly people. Terrace + kitchen are nice to share time together. Wifi is good quality, and the rooms and shower are clean

i stayed here twice and both times had bedbugs the first night (bottom bunk) then changed to top bunk which was ok.. the owner is perfectly aware of the problem but doesn't seem to do much about it apart from offering lotion to ease the itching. there are a handful of long-term guests who seem to think they own the...

Seems to be a mix of everyone, but mostly older people. Two beds with different sheets (top bunks) had bedbugs. One day some locals came by to chat and later party. Lounge consists of hard chairs and some tables, kitchen is nice, no curfew for party noise, and no one uses the tiny pool. Owner is a nice guy. The...

I understand is a budget hostel and I cannot expect much, but my stay in this place was terrible. I book a private room which only can have access to air con during night time. The room given was on the top of the building which means the heat will concentrate during the whole night. There is nothing to do...

The hostel itself was okay. The pool is not possible to swim in (it's miniscule) and there are no sun beds like the description claimed. The social area and kitchen is nice though. Maybe not somewhere to hang out an entire night since the benches there were pretty uncomfortable. They have hot water and the rooms are cleaned every day....

This was our second stay at Vive La Vida and we love it! Great common area with a cute little plunge pool and excellent wifi. The kitchen is huge with free coffee, free water, all the equipment you need and a great triple fridge to keep your fruit and beer cold. Welcoming staff, sweet location and spotless bathrooms with loads...

Vive la Vida was by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in, and I try to exclusively stay in hostels when I travel. They advertise that the room has air conditioning, but they fail to tell you that it starts at 11:30 PM and is not under your control. Speaking of the room, I felt like I was...

Very disappointed with my stay at Vive La Vida. I would strongly recommend people to not go by the high score this place has. It's advertised as having A/C, which is true, but you as a guest have no control over it, and it doesn't turn on until very late, we were asleep before it even came on. We rented...
