We stayed at Mahekal for 4 nights to partake in a beautiful wedding. The stay was a mixed bag, highly inconsistent service. There were some excellent parts of Mahekal and there were parts that were just downright unacceptable.

Thank you for planning a vacation at Mahekal Beach Resort. I'm here to help answer your questions. The "no cash" policy just means we don't accept pesos or US dollars in the restaurants, typically it's for outside, non hotel guests. We do accept cash deposits at check in and we do accept major credit cards.
Gratuities are not included because we are not an all inclusive resort. We have meal plans with breakfast or Lunch/Dinner included but alcohol/drinks and gratuities aren't included. There is a spot with suggested tips if you feel the service was appropriate. You can also tip in pesos or dollars if you like.
We are very busy in March. It's Spring Break and it's nearing the Easter holiday as well. But even though the hotel may be full, the hotel is spread out a bit so you may not realize it.
We look forward to seeing you in March.
