Location: Merida, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, North America Title: Youth Hostel Not Hotel ID#: 331451922 In fifty years of international travel first time I walked out, it even meant no refund 2 night stay. Expedia had this as a cutesy bed and breakfast, actually it was a made-over house and done poorly. Air conditioning did not work, nor did TV. Thirty...

Located in a nondescript side street, the place has a pretty little courtyard with a small pool and wall fountain. Room is goodsized with a hammock, but dark and had a odor. You can get a fruit drink but no cocktail. They serve a simple breakfast. It's an easy walk through a somewhat seedy area to the magnificent main square....

We had 2 rooms on the ground floor of a small b&b type hotel in central Merida. The breakfast was good and the rooms quiet and clean, with tile floors, hammocks and local textiles. Staff was generally helpful though sometimes limited in English.

My husband & I happened upon this lovely little place when foolishly arriving in Merida on a Saturday night without a reservation. We expected to be disappointed as it was about our 10th choice but it turned out to significantly exceed expectation. Staff super helpful and friendly. Room big and clean with a mini fridge tucked under the sink in...

The hotel is great, very helpful and accommodating staff, speak a small amount of English. Very clean ,pool is sparkling. Aircons and bar fridge work very efficiently. We enjoyed being close to the old city and specifically chose Marionettas so that we could see the sights in the evening. Well worth staying over.

I spent 8-nights the middle of October, 2015. Great staff and service, as well as continental breakfast featuring fresh fruit and fresh orange juice and excellent location. I requested a king room, and was not disappointed with room 6--which was downstairs--right off the pool. I highly recommend this hotel--very quiet and laid-back. Danny L.

We passed this city on the way for one night, and found this little cute hotel. Very nicely decorated, comfortable beds, very quiet atmosphere. They have their own parking so it's better than leaving the car on the street. Nice small pool in a amazing courtyard, wifi is free. Recommend (!)

If you are considering this hotel is because you dream of waking up in an hacienda-styled colonial house surrounded by the peculiar Yucatan morning peace. Although Hotel Marionetas does resemble an old colonial house, your experience might be degraded by some other basic factors. My first and major complaint about this place was our room assignment. Rooms 7 and 8...

Converted hacienda with classic Spanish feeling including hardwood wooden window shutters and doors but new windows on a quiet street with lots of small restaurants around, but walking distance from most of the major tourist sites and areas. Very warm welcome, good staffing and hospitality with a good breakfast available. Pool is only 12 feet long and 3 feet wide...
