This was our second trip to Merida. Three years ago we stayed for 10 days at Ville Verde and this time we stayed for two weeks except for a couple of travel days away. After long days of exploring, dusty noisy streets (which we love most of the time!) and hectic travel schedules, you open those huge wooden doors to...

This was our first trip to Merida and the help we got Villa Verde was great. They provided great help in getting all the restaurant reservations we wanted. The hotel was an oasis in the city, we felt like we were in a different time.

The property is just gorgeous, a completely restored and updated hacienda style inner-city home in the heart of Merida's historic district. All the rooms are comfy and with really nice pillow-top mattresses. The grounds are wonderful, Private garden, pool, sun deck, restaurant and bar and the lovely center courtyard. The owners are wonderful and the minute we asked about a...

What a beautiful spot. Lovely courtyard. Then a covered patio overlooking the pool. A tranquil walled garden beyond. We had drinks n lunch. The food was delicious. We're going to go back for a swim. Gay friendly n owned. Nude sunbathing on private roof terrace. Only 6 rooms but the one we saw was tasteful n looked comfortable.

This place was beautiful (colonial mexican hacienda feel), the staff friendly (owners were knowledgable about the town and things to do, and always answered questions with a smile) and great location. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed drinks by the pool daily. Excellent find. Highly recommended.

Casual elegance. An oasis in the middle of the city. We stayed for 7 days with Robert and Michael. This renovated mansion is beautifully maintained, service is great, breakfast is a sit down served meal at 9:00 each morning. A drink in the small intimate bar every evening is included with your room. The bar also serves wonderful food several...

“On our first visit, we stayed in the garden room (#5) that faces the back of the property. This most recent visit, we stayed in one of the front rooms (#4). If you like authenticity, request one of front rooms (rooms 1-4). They are charming. However, they can be a bit claustrophobic because the only windows are the ones in the doors to the room that are placed higher for privacy. You still get the natural light coming in from the courtyard. We liked the garden room better because the window was larger and lower and the room is all set by itself and there is a bit more privacy. All of the rooms are wonderful, but this is more a personal preference. ”

“All the rooms are lovely, but our favorite is Room 5 at the rear of the Villa with a window overlooking the back garden.”

“1-4 are high ceilings with traditional decor. 5 is in the back, closer to the pool, and with more modern furniture. All are very spacious.”

“every room we have seen is well appointed. Room five is farthest away from the central part of the hacienda and next to the rear garden.”
