A very unusual hotel to say the least - art and tat everywhere, big looming tree in the courtyard and an unexpected swimming pool for the price. There is also a small tortoise shell cat who in my opinion, owns the place. Bless her cotton paws. Nice warm shower, clean bed, good lacation. The only downside was the mozzies and...

This quirky little hotel has an amazing location. The rooms were a little outdated but for the price it was a steal. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend it for people on a budget and who don't want to stay at a hostel.

I rolled upto Merida after dark, and it was tipping it down. Either there was something going on or the locals were suspicious of me, but I couldnt get into the more central hotels. So, after doing my drowned-rat impression, I wafted upto this place. It was empty, didn't see anyone else there or any sign of breakfast. Still, at...

What a beautiful place.. from the outside you can not see what's hiding within.. it looks like a horders place stuffed with wicked art and a big tree in the middle... the room was good enough for us.. a big bed.. you do need a mosquito net this time a year... airco worked great.. shower just fine.. the owner is...

We were very excited about staying here thanks to 'Rough Guides' and other reviews. However, the shock and disappointment when we got here was quite palpable. The rooms are musty smelling and old. The place is generally quite ramshackle and you have to leave the air conditioning on for at least four hours to cool the room. Not great but...

If you are depressed, you have a need of fresh air and a lighted room is a must don't put your feet on there. Nice for a horror movie shooting. When asked to have some light in the room the lady answered to turn on the light or to put a string (of our own!!) on the curtain. Claustrophobic, dirty...

The hotel seems to have had some more glorious past, but what is left is some arty hotel reasonably priced. The swimming pool was open the last time I was there. The rooms are spacious, the staff very helpful. The hotel is located only a few blocks from the main square.

The location is excellent, the rooms are large and the airco worked great. The staff was helpful. But this hotel has seen better days. As long as you know what you will get that should not be a problem. Not a lot of water came out of the shower, and overall it was a little dingy. I am not a...

We stayed here two separate times on the same trip, and enjoyed it both times. The first time, they checked us into a very spacious and breezy room, but it turned out that the water pipes were being repaired and they had to move us, and we wound up with a cramped room with no windows. Perhaps as a result...

Art work, antiques and gardens are worth the stay. We stayed in a wonderful room, see picture. In August, the ensuite air conditioner was not plumbed to the outside and the condensed water dripped into the room, making it quite humid. But, then, all of Merida was quite humid. The bed was firm and room was clean. Plenty of places...

“It might be helpful to ask to look at the room before checking in. All the rooms seem to be different from one another. Or, at least, there are groups of room that are different from other groups.”
  • Because of the drippy air conditioner we asked for a different room. There was artwork here, too
  • Beautiful room but the air conditioner dripped into the room making it quite humid
