Overall, it is a very cool place. It is actally part of the old church where the nuns used to stay. The woodwork, ironwork and the doors are awesome. On the main floor there is a communal kitchen that you are welcome to use. It is fully equipped with large fridge and stove, complete with cookware and utensils. There is...

This beautiful hotel is full of color and local charm. The rooms even come complete with a hammock which is native to the area. Walking distance to lots of local sites, including the Centro Historico. The staff are warm and welcoming, as is the space. Be sure to stay on a Thursday when the Parque Santa Lucia, literally steps away...

We stayed here one night and loved it! It is right in the center of Merida. We walked to everything. We used the pool 3 times in 24 hours it was so hot! We had a room right next to the pool, our room was small but we didn't care as we were visiting the city and the A/C worked...

The quirky character of the website follows through in this charming and fun hotel. The owners and staff are very nice and helpful, and they provide great information on restaurants and activities. We had a huge room with a kitchen near the pool and were very happy with it.

Luz en Yucatan deserves all the praise it gets. It's a fantastic hotel in every respect. The hotel is a colonial gem, in the perfect location. It has a lovely pool area which gets a lot of sun but always has shaded parts. All the managers are lovely. Incredibly polite and helpful. They provide a leaflet which basically deals with...

Luz en Yucatán is a little quirky treasure: a converted nunnery with charming decor, leading to a courtyard with a beautiful pool and patio. Outside the entry to each of the rooms are comfortable patio sets and a hammock- very cozy for lounging with a beer. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lists of places to visit, eat, etc....

This was our favourite place during our three week trip to Mexico. The hotel is in an old convent and is full of character. We had a balcony with chairs and hammock and a rooftop terrace and also a kitchen although there is a communal kitchen for guests to use as well. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful...

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! I was touring my parents around the Yucatan, and we booked 3 nights here. The owners were nice enough to block it off for an additional night at no charge so I would have a place to rest when I arrived very early in the morning! The property is beautiful, and...

Huge room on 2nd floor (Upstairs standard room, though sadly too late in booking to get a room with balcony and hammock overlooking pool which looked even more splendid). Our massive room even had a small sofa and desk area, very clean and well equipped, with drinking water plentiful. Fridge contained beers on arrival which I forgot were on offer,...

I knew i would get back some day and i did. We stayed for the last week of March and it was fabulous. The owner actually remembered me and we had a great chat about all the upgrades that have been made since my last visit. The place is still a paradise in the middle of the city, cool and...
