We stayed here in late June at the recommendation of friends. It was a series of nightmares. We should have left when one of my kids pointed to one of the cracked columns in the courtyard and asked if it were safe. The insect infestation (i.e., ants and flies) was incredible, and the worn-out condition of the place was notable....

I cannot believe some of the reviews on thisa hotel claiming that the service was bad, it astonishes me really given the courtesy we were shown at all times and the overall helpfulness of the staff. The building itself is absolutely beautifully kept. It is clean, modern and tasteful. The rooms are spacious and clean with safes, flat screen TV,...

This is the hotel we chose to stay at with all of our family during the one week we stayed in Merida for our weddng. Being our wedding we wanted somewhere relaxing to stay in but it turned out to be complete opposite. 1. We had booked 8 rooms 2 months in advance and when we got there they only...

We checked in at 1:30 am and the front desk was so kind and helpful. They apologized the restaurant was closed but offered to get anything for us at the local grocery store. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only item that took getting used to was having to use the key card to operate the air conditioning. The...

We spend 2 nights in Real Yucatan in a pool-side room and it is not 5 star acommodiation. Located in the historical center of Merida, has a wonderful inner patio and a very, VERY helpful and efficient staff/reception desk. That´s all good about it. The AC was so loud I couldn´t sleep at all, the doors don´t fit so you...

Merida is more of a romantic city and ‘Gran Real’ was a perfect place for a romantic getaway. The hotel had a great location. Upon arrival, we found the place very quiet, we didn't see many guests around and the check-in was quick and hassle free. Our room was on the 4th floor and had the view of the pool....

Very clean hotel, nice decor inside. Service is good, albeit a little distant. We stayed four nights. We were moved to the upper fifth floor after two days, which was good because we were getting away from the elevator and higher over the pool. Very nice room indeed. There is a restaurant and a small bar. We only had breakfasts...

Located close to the old centre of Merida, but just outside of it. It was not as difficult to find by car. The car parking lot is a junkyard, but it's ok. Hotel seems clean and well maintained (except for the swimming pool, ignore it, I dont think it's ever used). Rooms and beds are great. Had a great sleep....

The hotel is fashioned from a mansion stemming from the time of sisal wealth barons. It's beautifully appointed in the public areas, the rooms are spacious and clean, ours opened to an inner courtyard with plants and flowers, and was very quiet. There is free internet available and a friendly and helpful desk clerk. Forget the hotel restaurant. You can...

It doesn't look like much when you drive up, but walk through reception and you will see a stunning garden in a huge open-air courtyard surrounded by a spacious sitting area and dining room. The rooms are nicely furnished, large and spotless, with marble tiled floors and antique looking wood furniture. The bathrooms have excellent hot water and water pressure,...
