This is a nice place to stay. Rooms are nicely appointed and with balconies to the pool. The dining and foyer are delightful and worth taking the time for a relax. Breakfast is so-so, but the team are friendly and helpful. Wifi is a little dodgy.

Location - most convenient; about 5 blocks from central square which is walkable after 7 pm due to high temperatures earlier. Food - very well cooked and served for all guests - vegetarians and meat eaters. Amenities - well catered for swimming. Cleanliness- very clean n furnished. Bid bathroom with all mod cons. Service - excellent service by reception and...

I have absolutely no idea what happened with my luggage in this hotel! I identified it in the lobby, watched someone write my room number on the suitcases and then boarded the elevator with the bell boy. He took the first girl's luggage to her room and then... poof! I finally went down to the lobby to see a couple...

This hotel relies heavily on tour groups for whom it's probably an OK be night stop maybe 2. Superficially it looks very good - nice building and quite big rooms. However it's all a little lack lustre, the rooms are ok - but then most hotel rooms are OK. Ours had large clusters of dust just hanging on a couple...

I've stayed in lots of budget hotels, and this one is just a tiny bit more money than most of the budget hotels in hisotric Merida, but what you get is soooooo worth the few extra dollars! The men at the desk are so helpful and friendly, and after traveling for a month in Yucatan with my three kids alone,...

We booked into this hotel for Christmas as we wanted a nice and colonial style hotel to spend the holidays in. The website pictures convinced us to try it out and luckily we were not disappointed. The entrance to the hotel is grand, like walking into a mansion, reception staff courteous and friendly and they gave us a room overlooking...

The Gran Real Yucatan is centrally located about a 5-6 blocks walk to the center of town (or what they call the Zocalo). The hotel itself could use a lot upgrades as it is a little run down and rough around the edges. In the US or Europe this will be a 2-3 star hotel. I gave it a 3...

Stayed in for evening meal. As I don't eat meat or fish my choice was slightly limited. However our waiter Cruz was eager to please and asked the chef if he could do me a mixed salad. This arrived and it was huge and delicious. Nothing seems like too much trouble for staff
