I booked at Las Palmas after reading some incredible reviews. I do not regret this but there a couple of things you should know. I had a nice room on the ground floor, next to the courtyard. The room was spacious, clean, with shelves and hangers for storage, and with hot water in the shower. The bed was super comfortable....

Yes, this was my second visit to what I consider my second home in Isla. This time I stayed for a month, and would have liked to have stayed longer. Being back with Kate and Safari, is really, now, like being back with family. On my first visit, 2 years ago, they became not only the hotel owners, but my...

I recently booked a week-long trip there based on the reviews on this site, and left after one day. I honestly can't understand the reviews here. In no way is this hotel quiet -- in fact the opposite is the case. We had a room on the ground floor -- all the rooms on that level have windows that face...

We spent the first part of our holiday at another hotel on the island, but decided we were ready for a change when we ran into a man who told us he'd just spent 16 days here with his family, and they'd had the best time ever in all their years of holidaying! We lucked out and were able to...

Hotel Las Palmas on Isla Mujeres is an ode to authentic Mexican Caribbean island charm comfort and hospitality. My wife and two small children ages 2 and 4 started our four week vacation on a return trip to the small beach town of Akumal and Tulum further down the Caribbean coast looking for a relaxing and full filled time with...

This is the first time I've felt inclined to review a hotel, but this is a must. was perfect . Kate and Safari, Canadian mother and daughter, not forgetting baby Dania, made me feel I was staying in a friend's home. Location is perfect, a short walk to the beautiful Playa Norte, the municipal market across the road sells fruit...

We stayed 10 nights at Las Palmas in room #3. We traveled with a 17 year old and felt we had adequate space in our room. We requested a mini-fridge and I was pleasantly suprprised to find a "large" mini-fridge upon our arrival. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and linens. The hotel also has beach towels available...

...still there is a few things I´d like to add anyway. First, I`ve never felt so welcome at a hotel in my whole life. A friendliness so warm and unique you instantly feel at home once you pass the front door. I´ve stayed at hundreds of hotels/guesthouses/hostels around the world and I`ve never even been close to this family-feel before....

This hotel does not feel like a hotel - it is more like a comfortable home. It is three stories, open and airy, with a fantastic rooftop for sunning or eating, and is beautifully decorated by the owners. Kate is an amazing artist, and your small but sweet room will have pretty painted walls, peacock feathers, sea-shells hanging - all...

We chose this hotel for our short stay on Isla (3 days) after a week in Cancun entirely based on Tripadvisor.com reviews. That decision proved to be a very good one in that my family was thrilled with the hotel and my kids (12, 9 and 9) all actually said when we arrived that they liked the hotel BETTER than...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Las Palmas is your home away from home on Isla Mujeres, tucked away from the hustle-bustle of Cancun. We are a family run hotel (three generations of women, mother-daughter and grand-daughter). Naturally, our place is a very unpretentious accommodation with a casual, friendly atmosphere. We have many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a plunge pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - possibly an afternoon siesta. Our communal kitchen is also on the terrace and fully equipped. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching or reading a good book.We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll. ... more   less
