On my last full day at Isla,I went looking for a hotel to stay at on my next trip to this great place Isla. The staff showed me around and gave me some prices and a business card. As I was leaving, the staff said that the owner was from Kelowna. I m from Saskatchewan,so knowing this also makes me feel... More

We had a wonderful week at Hotel Las Palmas. Kate and Victoria are a terrific duo. A great boutique hotel close to everything! Having an open air communal kitchen on the rooftop patio meant we could have breakfast and lunch at the hotel and go out for dinner. The Municpal Market is right across the street with fresh fruits and... More

We've been to Isla many times and have been meaning to try Las Palmas for awhile. Luckily we did try it this year. It's a great place not just because it's very comfortable, centrally located and attractive, but also because the owner Kate and her niece Victoria were great hosts and treat their guests like family. Their warm and welcoming... More

The sense of community here was refreshing, All the staff were a pleasure to associate with, location was #1, easy walk to all stores, markets and beach. I must say this was the best stay I have experienced in many years, and am looking forward to our next stay . It felt like home, only with a beach.

Nothing strongly negative to mention, but just a point to be well taken into account before booking - I'll get back to it at the end of the review. Starting by the good stuff: location is great, just a block from the main street and in front of the market with lots of food options, but without the noise level.... More

Wow ! pretty much sums up this amazing hotel. Beautiful people, and new friends are always found. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, as well as the entire hotel inside and out. How do you describe a place like Hotel Las Palmas.... From the moment you arrive and you are met by one of the family members, who own and operate this little boutique hotel, they make you feel like part of the family! Someone is always available to answer any questions, give directions or just join you for a quick visit....But... More

Honestly, there is always something fun and entertaining at this wonderful hotel. This year, we guests were treated to movie nights and popcorn after a day of sun and and the usual things one does on the island. Las Palmas is like coming back to see family and there is just a relaxed sense of being where everything and everyone... More

So many wonderful things to say about this absolutely charming hotel. Movie nights and pizza on the rooftop were so much fun! Coffee in the mornings visiting with other guests who then become friends is priceless. Evening happy hour where you can meet up again and share stories about the day's adventures, favorite places visited, favorite restaurants, and the opportunity... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Las Palmas is your home away from home on Isla Mujeres, tucked away from the hustle-bustle of Cancun. We are a family run hotel (three generations of women, mother-daughter and grand-daughter). Naturally, our place is a very unpretentious accommodation with a casual, friendly atmosphere. We have many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a plunge pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - possibly an afternoon siesta. Our communal kitchen is also on the terrace and fully equipped. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching or reading a good book.We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll. ... more   less
