Decided to add our first review ever after being a lurker on this site for some time. Our 15 days at hotel las palmas were the most relaxing enjoyable days of our lives. Kate and her helpers were more than great. We feel like we left our family there and we can't wait to be with them again. The rooftop...

We loved this place and had a fantastic time! Such a great, easy going atmosphere and you can't beat the location - a short, easy walk to the beach, across the street from the market, and steps away from tons of great restaurant options. We were a couple staying in a budget room. Some might consider this cozy, but it...

We stayed for a week in Room #1 which faces the street on the second floor. This room is nice because you can open windows on either side of the room for a nice cross breeze. The bed was comfortable pillow top. Good hot water in the shower. The best thing about this hotel is all the personal touches such...

Location, location, location! That's what Las Palmas has going for it. Close to the beach and near lots of cheap eats ect. The owner of the hotel, Kate, is on site quite frequently and is kind and helpful. The property itself is lovely. But.... it's not for everyone. It's good for first timers to Mexico who don't speak Spanish, and...

The Safari family welcomes you with open arms and with a friendly approach. They are perfectly service minded and are there to assist you whenever you need anything. As they have been staying on Isla they know every inch of the island and a restaurant tip or other info is never far away. I recommend to stay on the second...

Wish I could have stayed longer and continued to enjoy this great spot in Isla Mujieres. My partner and I were able to get away for a long weekend and were greeted by wonderful people at every corner of Las Palmas. Kate does such a wonderful job making her place feel like yours.

Kate, her family and wonderful staff have created a relaxing and decidedly eclectic slice of paradise. A courtyard, flush with tropical plants and palms (most, if not all, planted by Kate herself over the years) coupled with multiple outdoor rooms to enjoy lazy days reading books in one of the hammocks made this a family favorite. We were traveling with...

We stayed here for a week and I cannot say enough great things about it. Great location, cozy rooms, charming and eclectic on the inside. Kate is a wonderful host- we were seriously terrible guests.. my kids couldn't stop fighting, losing keys and screwing things up. Yet she had the patience of a saint. There are hammocks on the roof...

This is a lovely place to stay in the heart of the town. Kate the owner has lovingly restored this Mexican Hotel to create a pleasant homey atmosphere. She also was very helpful suggesting places to eat and things to do. The room was clean and very comfortable with lots of space for all our stuff. We could make breakfast...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Las Palmas is your home away from home on Isla Mujeres, tucked away from the hustle-bustle of Cancun. We are a family run hotel (three generations of women, mother-daughter and grand-daughter). Naturally, our place is a very unpretentious accommodation with a casual, friendly atmosphere. We have many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a plunge pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - possibly an afternoon siesta. Our communal kitchen is also on the terrace and fully equipped. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching or reading a good book.We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll. ... more   less
