We loved this location and hotel so much!

It’s located a block away from everything in Isla… it is just a few blocks away from the main strip too. Grocery store within walking distance.. tons of restaurants and souvenirs too. There are also plenty of scuba shops for those interested in arranging Adventure trips or scuba diving.

Hotel can rent you a golf cart to roam the island, for 24 hrs at $60USD per day… cash only.

Everything from check in to check out was perfect. The peace and tranquility of this location is worth every moment and dime you will spend.

The hotel is located in an area with a little private beach. The rooms are spacious and the air-conditioning works beautifully! We rented the full-size apartment with two bedrooms, living room and kitchenette. We had a beautiful balcony with a hammock and we were just one step from being on beautiful white sand, overlooking the serene and fabulous ocean.
The sound of the service will put you to sleep and you all have wonderful dreams❣️

There are fabulous pools on the property and they are well maintained and cleaned everyday. Housekeeping also does a wonderful job during your stay.

We had a full-size refrigerator, two queen beds and one king bed. The living room was spacious with two couches and chairs and the dinette was perfect for all of us.

The Hotel can arrange your Covid test prior to departure and someone will come to the hotel to handle this for you. It cost $50 USD cash only.

This is a perfect place for couples, friends or families and we will definitely be returning next year!

As you will see in other reviews this is not the same place. The Hotel used to have breakfast (never told they no longer served breakfast) used to have a mini bar and used to have a small bar by the pool. NOW: you can get water in the old breakfast area and a cup of coffee. No ice, no food, no drinks and staff that seems to show no concern for your needs. We arrived thinking the owner Kin (also owns Keen fishing and other businesses on the island) had us booked on her boat for a Whale Shark tour. After hours of stress the front office gentleman called her (now it's at least 7PM) and handed me the phone to be told she is not going out and did not book us else where. She said "There were only two Whale Sharks and 80 boats do you really want to go"? Well duh! We sure can't see them from the hotel! And the only reason we came was to see the Whale Sharks. At about 8PM we finally found out she scheduled us with an amazing company "Scuba Garrido Isla Mujeres."
The Hotel itself has the initial appearance of being well cared for but she is sadly allowing it to run down. We could hardly get in the room with a worn out key, beer cans and trash would be by the pool for a couple of days. Broken umbrellas, broken lights, cans in the bushes, etc. It is probably the prettiest setting on the whole island. Not sure why it's not better cared for. Most island hotels these days supply environmentally friendly soaps, shampoos and lotion. We had small refilled bottles of diluted liquid soap (had no idea what these were until we asked), small bar soap, no hair dryer (I finally borrowed of from the desk that barely blew air, let alone warm air), no hand towels, only bath towels and wash clothes (that was a first). Such simple things to make your stay more comfortable!

Good get away, quiet and low key with the action just a few blocks away. Very clean including the outside pool and little beach area. Room clean, bed comfortable (room 20 with ocean facing small balcony) large shower with enough hot water, a.c. worked fine, not too noisy. fridge and cof. pot in room, horrid toiletries.
Minus: beach towels small and thin, staff needs a class on hospitality, breakfast needs an upgrade, coffee and fruit good and some granola, but toasters do not really work and lots of prepackaged pastry which became redundant after 9 days.. Large breakfast room which is open all day and you can use the little microwave.

Breakfast was poor, customer service poor, asked to rent a golf cart no attempt was made to get one. 1 of 2 Room keys broken, Beach towels (you pay $200 USD on check-in for these items) frayed and missing any terry, these are shop towels!

Will never return. Stay near Punta Sur, they appreciate their guests there!

First off I would like to mention in the 22 years I have traveled I have never written a bad review. I felt people should be warned about this hotel and it's staff. When we checked in the concierge was not friendly at all. He told us that there was going to be a private party in the pool area that evening until midnight. Well this party which had staff members attend did not end till 5am! The next morning guests were complaining how none of us got any sleep due to the loud music and partying that went on all night and into the morning. We were also told that house keeping would only be cleaning every other day due to covid and we were fine with this. We had our room cleaned 2 days in a row and had money missing from our room. We always lock up our valuables and had went down to the pool knowing our room was not to be cleaned this day and left aprox 600 pesos, $30. When I went back up to the room to use the bathroom (because the bathroom in the lobby area was disgusting, tiny and missing the toilet seat) I noticed the money missing, which was in plain site! I talked to the front desk and he didn't seem to care at all. I asked to have the owner Kin contact me and even sent her an email to which she never contacted us or our emails and now we have been home almost a week and still no word from the owner! Such bad management here! Another couple that was in the lobby over heard me talking about the money missing and said that someone had been in their room the same day they checked in because they noticed things had been moved around after they returned from dinner! There are staff and family members that live in the hotel and we were woken up every morning to dogs barking and cats roaming all over the property. The management does not care and is so hands off to kids that were unruly at the pool and getting sand every where and in the pool from not rinsing their feet off. The pool is also not cleaned regularly and had debris and gross slimy looking stuff floating all over. The palm trees were not maintained and had dead limbs hanging and blocking a lot of what could be nice views. The bartender was never at the bar, we would have to go ask for service which was a hassle to have to go inside after being in the pool to get service. The hotel is very out dated. The door jams rusting out, the bathrooms had stained toilets and old fixtures. The bed seemed to be turned the wrong way to sleep in as our feet hung off the bed, and we are not tall people. This was such a disappointing stay and we will never return! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The management is terrible and so unfriendly. But the fact that we had money go missing from our room and the owner, Kin Lima would not address this with their house keeping or us is so wrong! Beware of this IF you decide to stay at this hotel!

I just stayed there for a week. The room I wanted (King jacuzzi suite) wasn't available the first night, so I stayed in a smaller King room on the second floor (#14) and then moved the following day (to #8). Rustic, but clean with good AC. Bed was comfy and I liked the assortment of pillows. Loooved waking up to the view and lounging in the hammock.
A few odd things that didn't make any sense to me, but I laughed about:
The smaller, less expensive room had 2 coffee cups, 2 glasses and a pitcher (there are water coolers on every floor to fill the pitcher). The jacuzzi suite had a single champagne flute, instead of two glasses. I felt very fancy drinking water out of the champagne flute.
The shower has a glass door that is not sealed along the bottom, so the bathroom would flood whenever I showered. I'd put down three towels and shower quickly for easier cleanup. Water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, sink in the cheaper room was clogged and slow to drain.
I never used the mysterious complimentary, unlabeled liquid soap (or shampoo/conditioner ??) that was in a little basket on the bathroom counter. But, they kept putting more bottles in the basket.
I did use the cream and sugar packets every morning, but they weren't replenished until my last day - so I kept taking some from the lobby.
The cheaper room had a little stir stick for coffee, more expensive room did not. 🤷‍♀️
Cheaper room had a box of Kleenex, more expensive room had none.
Tile on the balcony is VERY slippery when wet, be careful. Even if it doesn't rain, condensation dripping from the AC units and morning dew/humidity will make it wet.
It was fine, but not worth the price.

Surprised by negative reviews of this spot. We by chance got room 11, which was a perfect view of the Caribbean waves splashing up toward our patio (complete with hammock), with a pool just outside. Room was squeaky cleaned daily, coffee maker, tidy bathroom. Location can't be beat: near North Beach and just blocks from Hidalgo, Great breakfast restaurants, both upscale and loncherias nearby -- and food vendors lining the street. But my highest praise goes to the staff who came to my aid when I fell over a lounge chair, badly injuring my leg. The manager quickly called every doctor/nurse on the island, the bartender rushed over with ice and then they bundled me up and drove me to the hospital for emergency care. Because my travel companion and I then needed to change our plans for our onward trip to Oaxaca, a charming English-speaking desk clerk helped us make phone calls to our B&B there and to the shuttle to change our schedule for our flight home. Why go to El Secreto when this is right next door?

This hotel has terrible hospitality! We stayed here a week and let me tell you, don’t waste your money here! Staff is very rude. The owner, Keen is even worse and will not address problems you may have. Hotel is due for a major remodel. We tried to order drinks and food at the pool bar several times and could not get service ever. I don’t know why they even have a bar, which is tiny and falling apart. The continental breakfast consisted of 2 plates of rotting fruit, a juice box and some type of stale bread. Was terrible! The towels they give you for the pool are so old and thin and barely covered half of our chairs. Also several of the beach umbrellas were broken and the staff was never around to fix them or change them out. They don’t maintain the outside landscaping well at all. The lobby restroom was not clean and you could hardly fit inside to use the toilet as you are shoved up against a wall. They have several animals at this hotel and the barking dogs were quite annoying early in the morning when we were trying to sleep. I think they belong to the staff that lives there because we complained and they were very annoyed by our complaint and did nothing. We have been to Isla Mujeres several times and this was by far the worst stay yet. We will not return here again!

If you go to Isla Mujeres the only place to stay is La Media Luna. Clean, comfortable And reasonably priced!
Keen and her staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our daughter’s 25th Birthday was the day we arrived and her room was decorated with a banner, balloons and bubbles! The hotel is located on the Oceanside, away from the noise and hustle, with a gorgeous view. We had a full moon while we were there. Norma kept our room clean and Jamie was at the poolside bar when we were thirsty! Keen’s husband, Anthony, runs a fishing charter business and Captain Buddy Aimar along with mates, Chuckie and Beamer put us on Sailfish, Tuna and Wahoo!! We will return......a week earlier next year!

The location is perfect and the rooms are nice with great views. We stayed here the last time we visited, which was 20 years ago. The hotel is much bigger, the town way more touristy/developed, but this is still an amazing location. Quiet and easily accessible to everything-the best beach and town/restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk. And yet depending on the other guests, it is quiet, with a nice pool/beach area, away from the other places, noises, etc.
I don't disagree with the other reviews about the towels and toiletries, but the breakfast is ok for continental, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful.
We would stay here again easily, as the important things are in place.
