Have gone back trip after trip and will only stay at the Belmar! It's like going home. Small, clean and feels like Mexico. Love the staff too, it's no nice to be welcomed back every time by name. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Only wish for a fridge in the room.

We stayed in Hotel Belmar for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The location was central and the rooms were clean and very comfortable with all the facilities you need. The breakfast was particularly good and we enjoyed being able to order from the menu rather than having a set menu. The staff were nice and helpful. The only slight...

We came to Isla Mujeres without any hotel reservations and came across this quaint place located above Rolandis. The price was great, the atmosphere very cozy and centrical to everything. Plus they had wi-fi at no extra charge.

If you are looking for cheap clean and decent, this is your spot. Theres nothing super special about this, but as i said it is very clean. Think of it as a nice clean Motel 6. Its in the heart of the downtown, and u can hear some noise. I was alone and paid $32 for one night alone. I...

This hotel is well located and has a nice façade with a pretty good restaurant downstairs (Rinaldis). The hotel, however, has some really poor service and lack of consideration for their guests. Like another poster, we had to request hot water after coming home from the beach. After three unsuccessful requests we were told to simply let the water run...

We stayed one night at the Belmar after we had some difficulties with the apartment we rented. We needed to check in early at about 11 am and there was no problem with that. We got a 3rd floor room near the back of the building and it was very private and quiet. The rooms are cute - saltillo tile...

It is a very nice hotel, placed on the main road (Hidalgo) , where all of the resturants are place. The rooms are very clean and the crew in the reception is very...

This was our second stay at Hotel Belmar. The rooms are large and roomy and clean; it is an older very "Mexican" room, but for the price - which includes two amazing breakfasts the next day - you sincerely cannot go wrong. Do ask for a room on the third floor if you are early to go to sleep (the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the eastern-most part of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, this little fish-shaped island right across Cancun is famous for its tranquil turquoise waters and its friendly inhabitants. Some say Isla Mujeres, meaning "isle of women" took its name after Spanish explorers in the 14th century found female figurines in the deserted beaches. It is believed that the island was only used as a religious site by ancient Mayan pilgrims.
