Izla Hotel's service garners praise for its warm and attentive staff, although it's not without occasional lapses. Guests enjoy the hotel's amenities, notably the comfortable beds and pools, but some suggest the beach and other services could be enhanced. The rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and views but criticized by some for humidity and noise. Its location is lauded for serenity and scenic vistas, contributing to the tranquil and sophisticated atmosphere, albeit some advocate for more liveliness. While the overall cleanliness is commended, the value perception is marred by costly extras and service inconsistencies.

Isla Mujeres is beautiful and so was this hotel! everything was 5 star, the food (the free Breakfast was delicious, we ate there everyday) we also ate at their restaurant, Numa and had some of the best soup, steak and drinks we could handle.

The staff was TOP NOTCH! they were all so warm and sweet, willing to do anything for you. It was great to order fresh, delicious food and drinks on the beach.

We booked a basic room on Expedia and I was nervous that our room would be outdated and not clean. I was blown away by our room, it was huge! beautiful big balcony that faced the main pool. the bathroom was beautiful with 2 sinks and a large standing shower you could fit like 4 people in!! (No judgement if your into that kinda thing!). The TV had spanish/english channels, the room also had a table and 2 chairs and the balcony had a bench, table and 2 chairs as well.

Housekeeping was fantastic and they had lights outside the rooms that you could press if you wanted housekeeping to stop by or not, much nicer than having to search for the DO NOT DISTURB sign and make sure its on the door handle.

We went to the rooftop bar. the pool is small but they had daybeds, beds in the pool, chairs everywhere and seating area for lunch. Our server gave us great service and it was quiet with some music playing in the background that wasn't over the top. Loved it!

They charge everything to your room plus gratuity so don't worry about bringing stacks of dollars. Rent a Golf Cart!!

We stayed here in February and this hotel was chosen as a last minute option for impromptu travel and I'm so happy we chose it. This is a beautiful hotel, very clean, very friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was comfortable and clean and the shower was amazing and always hot water. Buffet breakfast was included which was a bonus and there was a nice selection of both traditional mexican cuisine and american options, including a made to order egg station. The green juice and orange juice were delicious. Our server Itchel was incredible; after the first day she would know exactly what we needed, filling our coffee cup as soon as we sat down and bringing the kids cereal. She was always pleasant and happy and went out of her way to make sure we had the best breakfast every morning. The pool bar at the beach was terrific and the selection and pricing was terrific. Our servers for the beach and bar were always smiling, super friendly and personable; quick and accommodating. Thanks to Miguel and Sergio for always making sure we never went thirsty; going above and beyond by bringing us cups of ice or more limon! These guys were so hard but never stop smiling. Thanks to Dany for searching for more Limon and coming to our rescue. Such a friendly and hardworking young man. Thank you to Connie for mixing up some fantastic drinks and for the special "cookie" drink on the beach. The beach was incredible at this spot and there were never a shortage of towels or beach chairs! It's just a short section of beach so you can't walk anywhere but we were very thankful to have the sand and water right at the resort. The housekeeping staff were also amazing, kept our water filled, fresh towels and wash cloths. I wish I had known the name of our housekeeping staff so I could have thanked them in this review as well. Thanks for making our stay amazing everyone!

We were two couples that stayed for 3 nights in February. We were on the 5th floor. Our room was very spacious. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was large with double sinks, storage, great shower and separate water closet. There was ample room in closet with shelf and drawers separate. Bar fridge which was nice to have snacks and beverages in. However, it could use a good cleaning. Foreign stuff on the walls and floors in the corners. The balcony was excellent. Lots of room and loved the padded seating area that faced the water. Check in was fine, our room wasn't ready but it was only a matter of maybe 15 minutes. Ok, so we are off to a good start, let's go to dinner. Con- understaffed. We were there for 2 hours and had only received our appetizers, which was warm soup. Then 3/4 main entrees came. Our friends chicken was stone cold. My husband was waiting for me to get my main and after a few minutes we gave up. There was a discussion with management and we were adamant that we would not be paying for any part of the meal, we left. Thank goodness we had snacks in our fridge. Breakfast was ok. They have an omelette station, lots of fruit, meat, cheese, hot dishes like scrambled eggs, french toast, pancakes sausage etc. Along with oatmeal, cereals, yogurts etc. You will not go hungry, we missed a toaster though. One night we ordered room service and ordered a club house, not what us Canadian/Americans are use to lol. Had a caesar salad and steak sandwich. The main pool was very very refreshing and the wait staff was excellent. The upper Adult pool was fantastic to watch the sunset and happy hour was enjoyed. But the pool was like bath water. Taxis are readily available if you do not rent a golf cart from town as there is no where close to rent one. It was 120 Pesos from the Ferry to the hotel. Again, staff were excellent and except for the dinner fiasco it was a very good stay.

We loved staying at the Izla Hotel. We arrived about 9pm the first night and were checked in quickly by very friendly and welcoming front desk staff. Since we hadn't eaten yet, we ate at one of the two hotel restaurants. You can sit either indoors or outdoors and have a wonderful view of the beach and water. The waitstaff at the restaurant were also very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Our room was on the second floor, was very spacious, and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool with a partial ocean view. There was also a fridge and coffee maker. I also liked having individual reading lights on both sides of the bed. Our included breakfast was a nice buffet every morning, which included everything from custom omelets to Mexican dishes and fruit. The pool was beautiful and had great bar service. There is also a nice rooftop pool and bar with views of the beach and the lagoon. The beach is just steps from the pool and has chairs and umbrellas. The water at the beach had seaweed, but they cleaned it up every day.The Izla Hotel is a little ways from town, but there are many restaurants nearby. It is also about ten minutes to Punta Sur and town. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Izla Hotel for two weeks in Feb. We had a great time and cannot say enough good things about the staff. Rooftop bar was lovely and Arturo, Anabel and Andrea were entertaining, friendly and fun providing wonderful customer service. Every morning we had the breakfast buffet which was great with the food options always changing. There was fruits, cheeses, sausage, hash browns, Mexican food options, pancakes, waffles, etc. You name it they had it. We loved the omelette station as well where you could get freshly fried eggs and huge omelettes. Big huge thank you to Luis, Marco, Jose and Janet for their lovely service every morning when we showed up for breakfast providing fresh coffee and orange juice and making sure you had everything you needed. The rooms were great with a nice big bed and a lovely view of the ocean. Room service was great and they even surprised us on our second night with swans made out of towels laid on our bed with rose petals and Hersey kisses - it was our honeymoon. The main pool was large and deep with plenty of lounge chairs and a pool bar close by. Their Pina Coladas were delicious. We never ate a lot of food there as we had too many restaurants on our list to visit on the Island but we did have the bacon wrapped hot-dog and fries one night at the rooftop bar and it was delicious. One thing you should know is that the hotel is pretty far away from Centro so it is very quiet which is great but you do need to cab everywhere or rent a golf cart or scooter. Overall I would highly recommend staying at this hotel and give it a 9/10. We give it a 9 as the tipping policy was very confusing and not explained well enough in our opinion. We always had to sign a bill after eating breakfast which was included in our package and we never really figured out if we were suppose to just sign or include a small tip as well. They do tell you upon check in to not tip in the restaurants or bar as 15% will come off your tab at the end when you check out. But does that get split with the servers? We never figured that out so we did provide a tip here and there to some of staff and occasionally to maid service. We would definitely stay here again. We had a wonderful experience and a lovely honeymoon.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Izla Hotel. The guest rooms have plenty of space, including a balcony with beautiful views of the pool and beach. Bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. Wi-Fi worked great throughout the hotel. The room is well appointed with lock box for your valuables, hair dryer, double sink vanity, etc, but does not have a mini fridge.

For folks who enjoy staying active on holiday, the pool on the ground level is quite large, and good for lap swimming, and they also have a fitness center that is small, but has all the standard equipment you'd need for a good work-out.

Our room rate was inclusive of buffet breakfast, which was delicious and had a great selection. The waiters and staff are very friendly and helpful.

My wife, baby and I have stayed here twice now for the past two Christmases and both have been exactly what we are looking for. My wife travels a lot for business staying at nothing but 5 star Four Season style hotels and she loves it, so I'll start there.

The hotel is brand new and not as well known, but that means it is extremely modern and super duper uber clean. We stay in the upgraded room which has a patio looking directly at the sunset over the city of Cancun for what is an amazing view.

They have a pool on the roof, which doesn't allow kids, but is excellent. They also have a big pool and private beach which are ideal for lounging.

We rent a cart for the week and drive into town - my favorite thing to do - but there taxis parked there which take you to the main city for $5 in about 10 minutes.

Finally, the staff has always been top notch. Friendly and there when we want someone and out of the way when it's chill time.

Also, this latest time I had booked a non-refundable rate and had to call a couple days before our reservation as my father was in the hospital. Their staff was so friendly and accommodating about this last second change and I can't thank them enough for it.

The only complaint I have is that the free morning coffee could be stronger.

Other than that if you want a beautiful resort, with an amazing view, private beach, modern rooms and a terrific vibe, go here.

This was our first real vacation in three years. We stayed for 7 nights and did the half board meal plan. The resort was closed for a year and just reopened in December. That being said except for a few minor service issues everything was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was pretty elaborate and had something for everyone. Gimer, the manager took great care of us. We had dinner at NUMA, the more formal restaurant pretty much every night since dinner was included in our plan. Roberto Baak, the head waiter did an awesome job. He was super attentive and he prepared a table side flambé for us on one occasion. We had fresh fish every night and all the food was amazing. I have been a NY Restaurant GM for 20 years so I have very high standards. They are training a lot of new staff post COVID so just be understanding of that. They go over the top to correct any service issues. The chef was top notch. For example the catch of the day came with patty pan squash, candy cane beets and mini stemmed carrots which was an unexpected delight. Amazing quality and freshness. It was worth the $40pp per day to include breakfast and dinner. The tip is also included in the price. (Best deal we found was on booking.com) They will also let you switch from dinner to lunch if you want to try another restaurant on the island for dinner. All the drinks were made with fresh fruit so we were quite happy about that. The resort rents out golf carts to get around the island which is convenient and fun. I recommend you book the golf cart early as they only have 4 of them. It’s $74 for 24 hours. The Hotel only gives you 18 pesos per $1 US so you might want to pay in pesos since the normal exchange rate is 21 pesos to the $. Anyway, we had a super fun vacation and will definitely return.

I stayed at Isla hotel for New Years 2020 for three nights and have to say it was just a delightful hotel to be at. That’s kind of an understatement actually. The service was excellent, definitely 5 star worthy, as was pretty much everything else from the drinks to the food. Raquel helped us so much as did everyone else and it made all the difference and stood out as truly outstanding service. In addition, the pools were exquisite (especially the Sky Lounge one for adults) and the room accommodations were also exquisite. Everything was really clean and the bed was very comfortable. I am very picky about cleanliness, especially around the bed area and I found it pretty much impeccable. My partner and I loved the balcony and spent quite a bit of time looking out at the pools and the sunsets.

I have two points to make in this review. The first is that we had some issues with the key card —it had to be replaced 5 or 6 times. I couldn’t tell if we were at fault but my sense was that the card reader on our room wasn’t working or perhaps it was the system they use. My second point is that I would love to see them have some sort of transportation to the main center of the island. A lot of hotels (albeit in the United States) have little shuttles that run every few hours. There was never any shortage of taxis and I realize the taxi situation is different in Mexico but I think it would be a nice-to-have.

I will definitely be returning to this incredible hotel and highly recommend it to everyone interested in a LGBTQ-friendly luxury hotel on Isla Mujeres.

We usually stay on North Beach in Oct but since this trip was a last minute decision during March we wanted to try something away from the crowds. We enjoyed our stay at Izla Hotel and would definitely return. We booked a room with breakfast included and the breakfast buffet was good. I also ordered from the a la carte breakfast menu one day to try it (50% off since we had the breakfast plan) and that was delicious as well. The pools are wonderful (adults only on the rooftop, family main pool). The free yoga on the beach (3 days a week) wqs great. It was easy to get a taxi from the hotel to restaurants or North Beach - cheaper than renting a golf cart but not as much fun. The beach at the hotel is no where as amazing as North Beach but we knew that when we booked it so we were not disappointed. The only thing I would change is the water pressure in the shower. There are energy efficient restrictors on the shower head that reduce the flow. Toilet flush is also not the most powerful but these are small things that make sense considering we are on a small island.
