I visited Villa Ixchel for a business meeting. I come from a family who runs a small hotel and have a keen eye to the ins and outs of the business. Roswitha made our stay absolutely fantastic. She is very personable - inviting me and my fiancee out to carnival with her. The rooms are exceptionally clean and reasonably priced....

Rosie was not only fun to be around, she was extremely gracious and accommodating. The apartment was very nice and clean. Having free wi-fi in the room was fantastic. There is a locked front gate, but the area always seemed very safe to me. One reviewer mentioned dogs. There is only one dog and never a problem. Not once did...

Roswitha (Rosie) set us up for a night on short notice for our Snorkle Tour - the accomdations were exactly what we needed - clean bead and bathroom. dining area - nice, peaceful, neighborhood off the beaten path, landscaped garden and within walking distance(30 mins) or cheap taxi (30 pesos) to the downtown / ferry locations. We'll visit again -...

My room at Villas Ixchel exceeded my expectations. I plan on returning. This was my third experience with Roswitha, each has been excellent. I feel sorry for those that visit Cozumel and stay at a beachfront hotel or just see the water front from a cruise ship. The plaza is much more interesting when you approach it from the land....

I just love this place. My little slice of heaven in Cozumel. Villas Ixchel is away from the hustle of downtown in the quite neighborhood of Colonial Independencia across the street from an elementary school. Rosie the owner, is just a wealth of information on the island and is always willing to share her knowledge and also is a hoot to...

My family traveled with another family to Mexico for Thanksgiving 2006. We wanted to snorkel and have heard that Cozumel is the place to go. Our web search turned up Roswitha and her personalized snorkeling tour. What a find! Making the arrangements was easy. Everything was done via email before we even left the states. We had 10 in our...

This was the best snorkeling adventure we've ever been on. Rosie is so full of information and helps eveyone out. This is not your typical snorkeling boat. It is an intimate tour with few people. Rosie is so knowledgeable and so sweet. The snacks were awesome! We will definitely come back again!

Villas Ixchel is a great place to stay in San Miguel. It's a good walk from the town centre but we enjoyed getting away from the crowds and there are so many different routes to take that we always found our walks interesting. We had an upstairs studio apartment and it was bright, super clean, airy and cool for sleeping,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villas Ixchel is located in an upper class Mexican residental area, in Colonia Independencia. It is peacefully quiet and away from the tourist crowds of downtown. A very safe neighborhood you can walk everywhere, catch a taxi on the street or park your rental car easily. Each of our guest suites is scrupulously clean (I am Swiss!). All feature a fully equipped kitchenette, AC, Ceiling Fans, Fridge, TV, Radio, and of course daily maid service. There is also high speed wifi. We have a tropical garden where you can sit out and enjoy your breakfast under the coconut tree. We also have in house PADI scuba certification, private snorkeling tours. I've lived here 25 years so, of course, have all information you will ever need to make your vacation special an unforgettable. We would love to have you our Home away from your Home to share the beauty of Cozumel together and show you true Yucatecan/Swiss hospitality. ... more   less
