Perfect getaway from the tourist traps. Each of the individually designed and decorated rooms have their own character and charm. Each one named after a sea, you feel a part of nature. The owner and host Txepo (Chepo) speaks 7 languages and is a passionate advocate for the environment. Diving at 10, and commercially diving since he was 15 he...

Where to start.. Although I was initially welcomed with warmth from Txepo and Andrea, I was completely turned off by the smell of wet dog throughout the entire front room. I have two dogs myself and am very used to the stench - but I do not let the animals on the furniture, especially when wet, knowing full well that...

Txepo is amazing. He welcomed us at the door with Gracie, Lola and Mundaca. He showed us the house and told us the story -it made it an unique experience-. He showed us his guest book and recommended us places to visit while on Cozumel. I have to say that his recommendations were one of the best ones throughout our...

We were lucky enough to stumble across this accommodation and booked for New Year before we left the UK and it was exactly the type of place we wanted to stay away from the cruise ships and bland hotels/resorts on the west coast of Cozumel. It is quite a step away from the coastline, but that for us was quite...

Just visited Villa Ana Maria for 4 nights last week. I was on a solo trip and just needed a basic place to stay for a dive trip, so I found it through Tripadvisor. Hope to add another more helpful review! This is a perfect place if you're looking for a great budget bed and breakfast, where you will be...

Visiting Cozumel for the first time for a scuba diving trip, I decided to stay at the Villa Anna Maria for a week Immediately upon arriving I was greeted by Txepo, the owner, who showed me my room, gave a tour of the building (lovely architecture), and introduced me to the extremely friendly dogs and cats (don't worry, they are...

I recently stayed at Villa Ana Maria for a week over spring break and am very happy with my experience. The owner Txepo and Manager Paco were so warm and friendly and really made me feel at home. The architecture is beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is within walking distance of the main tourist drag...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Ana Maria is a unique place. Located in the heart of Cozumel. An ideal place for those tired of the massive tourism, who want to have an authentic experience, know the lifestyle and culture of Cozumel Island surrounded by nature. Villa Ana Maria is home to an architect, who designed this house with a Mediterranean style in honor of his wife. Txepo, the owner, tired of the conventional architecture, decided to undertake construction projects with a sustainable eco-vision. It is for this reason that the house has no air conditioners, however, remains fresh throughout the year. It also has many green areas and its own garden where he grows local peppers, lettuce, tomato and all kinds of spices and fruits. He adopted 3 dogs rescued from the street, cared and gave them all their love. Villa Ana Maria you can find WiFi at the dining area. We also have a common kitchen on the terrace, which is covered. It features a clay oven that you can use to prepare some delicious pizzas, fresh fish, or whatever you want to cook. Soon we will have ready our outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and waterfall for you. We can help you to organize any type of activity in Cozumel since we know every corner. If you plan to come to dive, snorkel or spend time relaxing on the beach we have the best recommendations for you. We can also help you with car, scooter or bike rental, which is highly recommended for getting around the island. The arrival time is from 3pm. If you want to arrive earlier let us know and if the room is not ready, we can store your stuff so you can start enjoying your stay in Cozumel. We don't have 24 hours reception, so it is very important to tell us your approximate arrival time in order to be ready to welcome you. The area where Villa Ana Maria is located is very local. You can find from a very nice house to a very humble home. The most important thing is that it is a very safe place and you can walk all the time without any risk. We are located 1 block from one of the most important avenues where you can find taxis anytime. Sincerely public transportation in Cozumel is not very good and taxis to get to the beach area are expensive. Therefore we recommend renting some sort of vehicle such as car, scooter or bicycle. ... more   less
