We'd really anticipated our stay at Mayaland Hotel & Bungalows and even more so our exploration of Chichen-Itza. And we were truly astonished by how close the hotel was to Chichen-Itza park - Mayan "observatory" was close and massive - clearly seen from our Mayan suite window. The hotel dates back to 1920s, so it has grand halls, intriguing passage...

What a smart and well intended series of comments! On behalf of our community, THANK YOU! We are the largest employer of the mayan people in the Yucatan. Our hotels are located in rural communities. We endeavor to help with health and education, as well as to provide better housing and living environments. It has been a labor of love...

Beautiful "resort" area with nice rooms and good pool area. Close to the pyramides and very calm and relaxing atmosphere around the hotel area. I really recommend to go to the pyramides early in the morning when it opens! Because then you have the chance to take pictures withouth tourists and get a chance to walk around all by yourself!...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mayaland hotel at Chichen Itza. Of course it is not the cheapest alternative, but we knew what we got ourselves into so that's ok. :) The staff is very helpful and service-minded in a way we are not used to from our home (Scandinavia). When you arrive a golf car takes you and...

My husband and I are frequent visitors to Cancun and on this particular visit we invited my parents and sister who had never before been there. We decided to stay a couple of days at the Mayaland Bungalows before moving on to Playa del Carmen. Our stay there was so relaxing, beautiful and memorable. We stayed in the smaller bungalows...

The location of the hotel could not be better just in the door of the ruins it has it own entrance. The service its great very friendly personal. The rooms are very simple and very noisyin the moornig becauses of the animals in the gardens, you have too wake up early. It think the value you get its great.

We were really pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. The grounds are expansive, likely almost a square kilometer, with a combination of large areas of manicured gardens and lawns and kilometers of more rugged pathways through the surrounding forest. For the most part, the staff are friendly, gracious and very helpful. Our room, a king standard, more than...

Thank you for your nice review. I have just written responses to the last five comments. Everyone raves about our food! I am sorry you just found it OK... We really go to extremes to make everyone very happy, with all kinds of dishes, Mayan, Yucatecan, Mexican and International, given the fantastic variety of patrons that we are honored to...

Due to limited bus connections we arrived a bit early. Because many guests wait until the last minute to check out as they are visiting the ruins, our room was not available when we arrived. The staff was helpful in directing us to the pools and watching our luggage while we waited for the room. The grounds for the Mayaland...

Mayaland is paradise in the yucatan. We stayed in the bungalows three nights and it was wonderful. The staff is helpful and gracious. They helped us arrange outings and transportation. You will not find nicer people the world over. The food is great. You can pick from a buffet that offers mexican, mayan and international foods or order a la...

My wife, two kids (ages 8 and 11) and I stayed one night at the hotel. We loved the hotel and the location. You can enter the ruins directly from the hotel grounds. My husband, 2 kids (ages 11 and 13), and I stayed at the Mayaland during our recent visit to Chichen Itza. The location is excellent, the property beautiful, and the rooms are comfortable, but the thing that impressed me the most was the service. The staff were informative and very accomodating. We even showed up a day earlier than our...

Thank you for your wonderful comments! The fact that all of your family enjoyed our menu offerings, including your son, has a very special meaning to us, for it is one of the principal ingredients to the experience of immersing oneself in our culture. Your mention of the level of service is equally appreciated, for our people go to extremes...
