We were at Chichen Itza prior to checking in and an employee asked us where we were staying. "Hotel Oka'an" I said. "Ooohhh I've been there," he said, "it's very..............natural." Natural, I wonder to myself. I didn't know much about the place, rooms were hard to book at the time which turned out to be because of some Audi show...

Oka'an in Maya means "inner" which is the perfect name of this fabulous get away. If you want a place away from the hustle of town and crowds but still want to be local to the ruins, this is the place for you! The staff are profession, sweet and attentive. Chief Braulio along with Brighit, Nariz and Pedro cook amazing...

The bungalows are as beautiful as everybody says they are, and so is the location. The view of the pyramid from the mirador is stunning. However, the pool is old, dirty and cold, the spa is closed, the staff is not friendly, and the overall atmosphere in the hotel is somehow sad. The restaurant staff was awful: as we arrived,...

If you plan to spend some time in the area around Chichen Itza and like a remote, wild location but with good accomodations, this is a great option. Especially if you enjoy wildlife, birdwatching, etc. There is a mile long rustic road through the scrub forest into the property and fantastic, wild grounds once there--all great for birding in the...

We stayed here when visiting Chichen itza, and the day we were there we were actually the only guest in the whole hotel. Which was good but you are in the jungle and it was kinda weird to be completely alone in the middle of the jungle. We had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant and it was vary good....

It could be we were the very few staying at the time, no one was there during breakfast, and we didn't cross anyone but the staff, but a shame, as it is a lovely hotel, close to chichen itza yet far away from all those tourists. Beautiful large room. A nice welcome drink. They direct you to your room on...

Oka'an was very well situated for visiting Chichen Itza, but we had a hire car which I think you would need to get to the hotel anyway. The hotel itself is 1.5 km off the main highway along a well maintained driveway and staff were expecting us and very welcoming. It's only when you go up to the viewing point...

This is a collection of one small-footprint 3-floor hotel, and a number of stucco duplex bungalows. The "view" is the jungle. Lovely finishes and a very nice swimming area, with a romantic outdoor restaurant. Close enough to the Chicken Pizza to get there easily when it opens. Very pleasant staff. Good WiFi. Repeat: Good WiFi :-) Off the road and...

Set in the jungle, 2km off main highway and only minutes from Chitchen Itza the place is magic. Jose (asst. mngr) speaks great English and is very helpful. Wifi was spotty but storms were the cause of that issue. Price was excellent and accomadations and pool were wonderful. The food was good, but limited. Not all food items were available,...
