My cousin had flown up from Sydney, and prevailed upon me to meet up with her. There was no way I was going to stay in the too too touristy hotel zone, so I booked a room here. The hotel was clean, the public rooms featured bizarre pseudo-Mayan decor, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it had a nice pool. It either had no elevator or a broken elevator, which was an incomvenience. I was the only gringo I observed in the hotel. I cannot say whether the staff spoke English.

I am so very happy that we were able to find this hotel. Everything was just a bus ride away. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The service was impeccable. It was the first hotel I ever stayed at where someone was always outside the door within seconds of calling the front desk. The staff at the desk was also quite helpful with information. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

My husband booked us here for two nights prior to a business trip at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. I was nervous because it wasn't a familiar sounding place & some of the reviews were sketchy. I think those were from competitors because this place was great! Clean, newly remodeled & friendly. Walking distance from so much! We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Hotel Bonampak for 4 nights last week. The hotel is in a great location. Away from the hotel zone full of spring breakers but close enough to catch a bus or taxi to get to where you want to go. We had a king size bed. Great shower and water pressure. Hotel was clean and staff were kind and professional. I didn't get any of the free breakfast since it was carb city but my husband enjoyed a pastry. Only complaint is that housekeeping went into our room the second day we were there when we had "Do Not Disturb" on the doorknob. Normally this wouldn't bother me but without a safe in our room and having our passports in our luggage, I did not appreciate the disregard for our clearly noted preference. I let the front desk know that we didn't want our room cleaned until we checked out and I am happy to report our request was honored. Lastly we didn't use the pool since I read it was not heated and also, to be honest, it was filled with dudes at almost all times. :)
