Grand Park Royal Cancun garners praise for its immaculate cleanliness, with guests consistently impressed by the spotless rooms and pristine beachfront. The amenities, including diverse dining options and engaging activities, are frequently commended despite some concerns about limited seating and aggressive upselling. While the atmosphere is generally welcoming with stunning ocean views, a few travelers have found certain areas lacking in ambiance. Room maintenance and comfort have been points of contention, leading to some dissatisfaction.
The service is often celebrated for its friendliness and professionalism, yet occasionally criticized for being slow. The hotel's superb location is acknowledged by many guests, although a handful view it as average. The value proposition, however, has been questioned by visitors who feel the services might not justify the additional charges.

Detailed Reviews
I've been to a few all-inclusive hotels in the area and I was very happy with my experience at the Grand Park Royal. It has everything you need at a reasonable price. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, from check-in staff to the bartenders and waitstaff. We traveled as a group of four on a girls' trip and they upgraded us to ocean front adjoining rooms. The rooms were spacious and clean. The buffet was our favorite restaurant. There were always different options and thoughtful touches, like live music and a cauldron of Mexican coffee on Mexican night. We loved sitting outside by the pool for breakfast there every morning. We found the service a bit slow and the food not great at the Asian restaurant, but the atmosphere was beautiful.
Even though the resort was sold out while we were there, it never felt crowded and we never had to wait for a table. Don't miss the sunset view from the rooftop bar! The beach is large and clean. The infinity pool was our favorite pool, a beautiful place to sit all day. I do wish the hotel would do something about people reserving seats, especially the beds or the shaded chairs on the beach. They were all reserved by towels or other random items by 9am. They said they will move towels unattended after 30 minutes but they never seemed to enforce it. Still it was still easy to find a chair in the sun, there are so many, especially by the infinity pool. In about 10-15 minutes you can walk from here to the area around Coco Bongo and other night clubs and souvenir shops. Overall it was great stay. I would recommend it, and would definitely stay there again!

10 day vacation. We wish it could have been 30 days instead of 10 days.
We were very excited about this family trip with our 3 year old boy, and it couldn’t be better.
The check in was so fast, what we appreciated a lot because we had a long line of 2 hrs at the airport of Cancun.
We got to the hotel around 5:30 pm. The lady that guided us to our gorgeous suite, also confirmed a reservation for us at 6:30 pm in the Italian restaurant just in front of our room.
I want to give special and huge THANKS to Carlos Da Silva, he had all the details into account to make our stay unforgettable. We have the very best opinion of Park Royal Hotels and Resorts and especially this hotel that hosted us for 10 days. First time traveling to a Park Royal resort and we definitely loved it!
We definitely recommend this hotel, the service and the staff is excellent, the Suite is very spacious and we loved the private jacuzzi in our ocean view balcony. Even we didn’t use it a lot, just to see it every morning made us feel in paradise!
It was the best experience ever. They were beyond our expectations and our demands.
While we were traveling with a little one, the only restaurants we could go were the Buffet and the Italian, anyways we loved the Buffet, they have different cuisine every night: we loved the Mexican night with the churros!
The Italian restaurant also offers breakfast, and we loved to go there because it was very close to our room. We loved the tostado of avocado and the green juice, I ordered it every morning!
We also had room service and it was well received on January 1st, we were very tired and it was a great choice to receive the year in our little paradise.
The pools were always very clean and quiet, not loud music, you can relax and chill out there with a beautiful ocean view, I will post pictures.
We were 4 days out of the hotel and when coming back we felt blessed. We definitely loved our hotel very much.
Things that we highly recommend: tips are very welcome, they just reopened after a lockdown, and they are saying they are probably closing again on Jan 15. So, whatever that can help Mexican families is so nice.
Buying handcrafts from the vendor at the hotel is also a good thing, it’s not a big difference in price from what you can get in the market close to the hotel.
Also, no need to change towels every day. Save the planet, we can save a lot of water and release less detergent to the phreatic mantle.
The ice creams and the cappuccinos in the Café Sole at the lobby are a delicious choice. Edgar was very kind.
Look for Antonio, Ubaldo and Candido at the buffet, they are very nice and helpful all the time.
Naomi at the Kid’s Club is very friendly.
Clarisa was our maid, and she was very professional, if we had the sign do not disturb, she waited to make our room later.
Anything that you would like to know about this hotel, let me know, I will be more than happy to share our experience with people that want to travel to this resort.

The check-in process was swift, informational, and we even received welcome drinks! Julian Ortega upgraded our room to the most beautiful ocean view for no cost at all! He was very pleasant to work with and very kind.
The room was huge and had the best rainfall shower. It was super relaxing after a long day at the pool/beach. It was cleaned and sanitized each day and the mini fridge was always stocked with cold beverages.
The pool/recreational activity staff made our pool days very entertaining. They played the best music and really got personable with the crowd. Lorenzo, the bingo facilitator, was awesome and super funny. He had the whole pool sing our friend Sara happy birthday and congratulated her with a tequila shot! Both water aerobics and water polo allowed us to really enjoy our stay.
On-site Covid testing was great as we did not have to venture to find a location offsite. I don't remember the name of the gentleman who administered them but it was room 3008 at 1:20 pm on 9/25. It was a very quick and painless experience.
Jesus helped with our dinner reservations and it was such a treat to see him at Andiamo on our last night. He too was very kind and patient as we practiced our Spanish :). He organized a surprise happy birthday cake for our friend Sara and they sang to her- what a treat.
Our experience at Andiamo was 10/10. It was our last night and the best restaurant on the property. Our server, Abel, was kind, attentive, quick, and went the extra mile for our friends birthday. She ordered dessert and they brought out a candle and had a flute player play happy birthday. Just so kind to add little personal touches like that. The food was great too! Beat dinner we’ve had. You must check this place out & request Abel!
All in all, the experience was nothing short of easy and fun. We truly were able to relax and not have to think about a thing. We were also able to arrange airport transportation via the hotel which helped make arrival and departure a breeze. I would definitely recommend Grand Park Royal and may even venture back some day!
Thank you to all who helped make this a great experience.

We are vacation club members and the service we received at the Grand Park Royal in Cancun was wonderful. We had a Butler assigned to us; Angel Itza, who did his best to anticipate our needs. He was very helpful in getting us tickets to Cirque de Soleil's Joya as well as entry to Tulum and Xelha with transportation to and from these venues. Angel ensured we got a cabana straight on the beach and also helped with other matters around the resort. He was altogether a delight and our vacation experience was improved due to his efforts. Our rooms were clean and spacious and were serviced daily very efficiently. We got the most beautiful bouquet of flowers in our room on the first day and water and soft drinks were replenished daily. The location of this hotel, right on the beach was fabulous and we could enjoy the sound of the waves directly from our rooms. We have always stayed at Park Royal, a few Kms down the beach from the Grand Park Royal but this was the first time we stayed at the Grand and our views were absolutely superior! There was a wide variety of restaurants available and we tried almost all of them. We have nothing negative to say about the food. There was always plenty of choice and those items I sampled were all delicious. I was glad there was a dress code in the evenings to encourage folks to come to at least one meal per day without beachwear. All other mealtimes folks are allowed to dress very casually. We had opportunity to use both the gym and the spa. Most of the members of our party enjoyed some wonderful massages and we all worked off our extra calories by using the gym equipment which included treadmills, ellipiticals, stationary bike, weight equipment, etc. Altogether a delightful and relaxing week in sunny Cancun!

We were greeted warmly & taken to a private check in area for timeshare members; we were pleasantly surprised that our room was an oceanfront building not the main building. Overall the resort is impressive, good a-la- cart options; La Concha, El Oriental & El Mirador for dinner and breakfast, where we ate most mornings. They have the best avocado toast! The Ekinox Lounge is the rooftop bar above the Mirador, with outstanding sunset views of the Nichupté Lagoon. The Lobby bar was fun at night with music & dancing! Dress code is enforced; long pants for men at dinner and the buffet for lunch men need t-shirts with sleeves. Lots of good snack options during the day, especially the pizza! Room service is available 24 hrs too. Both pools didn’t feel crowded, lots of available chairs throughout the day and beach chairs as well. We never had a problem getting a lounger during the day at either pool. Our favourite server and most memorable is Evely, she had a knee brace on during our stay but that didn’t slow her down. Evely is an asset to the resort, her outstanding service, smile and sense of humor made a big impression on so many guests. We were in building #1 6th floor. We enjoyed mornings on the balcony; coffee maker is in the rooms. We were directly on the beach & had the most amazing view. We had an oversized king, stocked mini fridge and bathroom is updated. The furnishings were showing a little wear as were other areas of the resort but it didn’t negatively impact out stay.

Arrived at the resort on January 30 checked in the rooms were not what we paid for was told no king beds were available. After a few hours had passed by I was informed that some of my party was changing rooms we were charged and additional $250 per room we had seven (7) rooms. It was very ironic that when the resort was to gain an additional revenue king beds became available. Our rooms was supposed to be on the adult side kids everywhere. One of our party was told the music was to loud at 8 p.m. on at least three (3) different occasions someone from the resort staff came to one of our rooms claiming that it was too loud. We were told by the resort staff that we are not suppose to be in each other rooms. One morning we were at the poolside bar someone from our group sat on the bar stool and wet paint was all on his pants no sign posted wet paint. A meeting was requested with the manager Alberto Abarca the meeting did not go well at all he was very unprofessional
lacked managerial skills and wa crass. One of the staff walked out of the room and made a statement can't talk to inorgant people. Checked out on February 4 my bill was $71 for a meal at the prime rib house had a $100 bill the clerk walked over and asked someone if he could give me U.S. money back was told no several people were checking out they had u.s. money available. Our butler Jessica, Francisco and Damien from the lobby bar were bright spots which earn the resort a one (1) Star.

Fabulous view, room, food. Things that need to change: drop dinner dress code for men, place trash cans around pool, add sit-up chairs to beach/pool, not everyone can use chaise lounges. Tips should be able to be charged to your room, guests should be able to buy pesos with a charge card at the front desk. If the hotel is going to allow 450 students to come and get loud and drunk, put them all in the same building, do not disperse them to other rooms next to, above, or below other paying guests. Mattress was extremely hard and the noise made resting nearly impossible.

This is my third time at this resort. This time I stayed for a week with my fiancé in December and had a wonderful time! The property had a mixed group of guests, from children to newlyweds, and grandparents too. There is something for everyone here. The property is located on a pristine beach with multiple pools and different types of accommodations. Daily activities allow for beach volleyball, BINGO, water aerobics, etc. We had no issues with seaweed, the beach was pristine.
Guests are expected to wear masks in common areas / indoor areas during COVID. The staff wore masks at all times, and we appreciated this. Temperature checks are done upon entering, and then any time you leave the resort and return. Hand sanitizer is available for use.
There are multiple restaurants on the grounds, from Italian to Mexican as well as traditional buffet (served by staff so as to prevent guests touching food). We did hope that there would be outdoor seating options for all dining, but only the buffet offered this, so we ate there. Room service is also available 24hr a day and is great.
We stayed in a room with beach view and our private jacuzzi, highly recommend this option, it's stunning! The room was always cleaned immaculately, and we appreciated the high standards of cleaning and health attention during COVID throughout the resort.
The internet was high speed, and the rooms come with HBO, CNN, etc. Great options to relax with a film at the end of the day.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, would happily come back!

We just recently got back from a 4 night stay at the Grand Park Royal in Cancun! We had an amazing trip. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive to not only our needs but all of the guests needs. Karla at the front desk was warm and welcoming and explained all the details of our accommodations throughly and was very nice. The breakfast at the buffet and the Italian restaurant on the property were great and had a number of options. The Mexican restaurant was so delicious and Hector? the server there was very nice and helped us with the menu. Highly recommend both the Italian and Mexican restaurant for dinner, there is also an oriental restaurant but we didn’t get the time to go. The pools are great with a lot of seating. The lower pool had a lot of activities/ entertainment throughout the day and the upper pool had a swim up bar which was nice! ALICIA at the infinity pool and beach was AMAZING!!! She was extremely attentive and somehow remembered everyone’s drink orders. She was always bustling around the pool getting orders, taking old cups/drinks and bring new ones to not only us at the pool but also down on the beach! She was extremely nice and hard working! In addition to Alicia the gentlemen who worked the pool bar not only made excellent mixed drinks but where extremely hard and where quick as well. The deck around the pool was quite slick when wet. I lost my footing a time or two getting out of the pool so it’s definitely important to use caution around the pool as it could be a fall hazard especially if drinking. Our rooms where cleaned daily which was a nice surprise considering most hotels since covid have cut down on how much people go in rooms but everyday we returned to made beds and clean floors and bathrooms. The hotel and staff where very good about maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. All employees wore masks correctly at all times and enforced mask use in main hotel areas. Covid testing was provided at the hotel which was very convenient and inexpensive if not already included in your hotel reservations. We stayed in building three which was right next to the main pool and at night there was entertainment which at times became quite loud lasting until 10:30 which interfered with our sleep after a long day or hearing our own TV. Besides these few small things we had a great trip that was very relaxing.

Everyone at Grand Park Royal was welcoming and professional- they went out of their way and did it with a smile. Mario in sales, Fernanda at check in and check out went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Damien at the lobby bar and Angel serving us on the beach made sure we were never thirsty... treated us like family. The rooms and grounds were spotless and the variety of food will win over any critic. The resort caters to couples and families with lots to do or you can choose to do nothing. Looking forward to returning soon!

Outside of being in a very nice exclusive building in the resort and enjoying a great view from your jacuzzi there is little else to gain. The rest of the resorts features are available to everyone and included in the price of the stay. Of course the steak house is an extra fee for most guest.
My thinking is, if you can justify the extra money for the higher lifestyle then go for it. However you get the same food and drinks for less money with a regular ocean front room.
