This was my first stop on my 3 night 3 hotel whirl of Veracruz. You can't beat the location of this hotel if you want to be in the Centro. It is right on the plaza, less than a stone's throw from the vibrancy of...More
My room, and as far as I could tell the entire hotel, had recently been very beautifully renovated. My windows looked down on the main plaza and the cathedral, but the sound insulation was so good the music and church bells never bothered me--and I'm...More

There is a website. Just google Gran Hotel Diligencias and look for one that starts gran-diligencia. One is in Spanish and another is in English. You can do it online. There was no phone number. I can't remember where I got the phone number and don't have it anymore. Maybe I emailed them and they replied with it. But you might need some Spanish to communicate. Ask for a view of the Parque (Plaza).
We found Veracruz safe and we are both over 70. The hotel is right on the parade route, at least it was for at least one of them. View the parage from above the street on their second floor terrace overlooking the park.
