The only observation that is made to the hotel is the area of the shower and bathroom, both are reduced, the drain of the shower is covered so it was necessary to remove the lid of the strainer since otherwise it would flood and the water leaves the shower area, they forget to leave you a rug or towel for the bathroom floor so it is dangerous.
Something similar with the shower and the mixer, it was difficult to regulate the intensity with the temperature of the water (a lot of water came out but hot, and little water but cold) as for the shower it is very old, it lacks maintenance, the jet it provides is irregular, I think they change it to a normal shower where all the jets come out evenly.
Reception had to be reminded of the towels for the floor and hands since they did not leave them when they cleaned the room.
It seems to me that all the rooms have a balcony, which is great for having a coffee at any time of the day.
Our experience was excellent, the service of each and every member of the hotel team was outstanding, especially our executive, Ms. Diana García García, who was always attentive to us with great efficiency but above all effectiveness.
As for the hotel, its facilities are very pleasant and comfortable, its location right on the dock from where you can see the fortress of San Juan de Ulúa and the coming and going of the large cargo ships is unbeatable, very close to the main square but away from noise.
The breakfasts were delicious, especially the freshly baked bread.
Very comfortable beds and clean and cozy rooms.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right on the malecon, across the street from the La Parroquia Cafe.
We made reservations on booking, and at check in we were offered to upgrade the room for $500 more per room. We accepted, and got two adjacent rooms on a very nice floor with a fabulous view, as the receptionist told us.
Our rooms had in fact a great view, but, our windows were so dirty, we couldn’t appreciate the views. Also, the wrap around balcony had dirty floors and the outside walls of the hotel were filthy. Our mirror in the bathroom wasn’t clean either.
I feel like they just cleaned the glass with a damp cloth, instead of using a cleaning product like windex. Also, on the outside walls, they could just pressure wash them, to make them clean.
Our beds, while they had clean sheets, were not very comfortable, pillows were too flat.
They have live music at the lobby on Saturday nights, and they also have happy hour then. It's a cool thing to do...
We had som issues with the air conditioning in the room, but maintenance personnel took care of that right away.
The gym was good and kept a relatively high standard.
The room service was taking a bit to long time and it became many orders that did not arrive as ordered. Some room service personnel was actively asking for tip, which I find very rude.
The overall condition is not in 5-star standard.
I would not recommend this hotel for none-Spanish speaking guests. It was only a few of the people working there that spoke English.
big thanks to Omar in particular who really made our stay. He has an exceptional attitude to customer care, and is one of the best hotel hosts we have met in 20 years of travelling. He obviously really cares about the guests’ experience, and ensured we were happy and safe for the duration of our stay. When he booked a late night cab for us one evening, he even kindly provided his personal WhatsApp in case of any issues - amazing.
Kudos to the team, and thanks for making us feel so welcome

I wold like to say again thank you Hannia and Melany and all Emporio staff.
We arrived back at the hotel at 10:30pm after 10hrs at work. To find the room not made up it was totally stinking from the wet towels left all day in the heat.
Horrible.
When called to reception they put us on hold for 23 mins. A total disgrace to a such nice hotel
I also want to note that the hotel restaurant is always easy and fast for me. I like room service and I always find the service good. I really appreciate when Don is the server. He remembers the small things that I want, like butter for my bread and the special sauce they serve with the shrimp.
