Our room was on the small side (just a double bed), but it was spotless. There's a nice outdoor pool on the 1st floor, and a restaurant/bar in the lobby area. WiFi was eh. Covered parking. Within walking distance of the malecon and lively zocalo. Overall good value and I'd def stay here again.

The hotel is decked out in decor from a few decades ago. It is convinitely located blocks from the port and some restaurants. Everything is walkign distance from this place. My father, brother, cousin and I visited this hotel and even late at night we walked to and fro to local restaurants with out a problem. They have a pool...

Hotel is pretty good for the price. It is located in downtown and few blocks away from the Malecon, next to Baluarte de Santiago -hence the name-. Staff is not very smiley but they are quick in solving your issues and attending your requests. Stayed for four nights during the weekend and it was perfect, close to town but not...

It's been 8 months since I last stayed at the Hotel Baluarte. They seem to have updated the furniture and the cable tv since my last visit. The air conditioner was new also and could have done double duty as an ice maker - which is no small thing in Vera Cruz in the summer! The Wifi worked well and...

I paid about $60/night, which was $15 too much (Veracruz I noticed was pricier than other areas in Mexico). Credit cards accepted. Room was clean, good hot-water shower, A/C. Wifi. Hotel has a nice pool/bar area. Mediocre restaurant onsite--menu is hit or miss. Didn't care for the breakfast buffet. Walking distance to the sights. A couple of blocks from the...

A bit run down and the staff are not far behind. But we were just looking for a roof over our heads for our time there. They have a nice pool but the weather was a bit too cool when we were there. We also tried the restaurant and had a similar mediocre experience. Don't go here looking for a...

This is a nice-looking building, quite modern, and in a quiet area. It is close to the historic "baularte" and about a 10 minute walk from the "centro historico". A taxi from the ADO bus station was 30 pesos. Don't expect to be welcomed, as the reception staff are quite "frosty" to put it mildly. But if that doesn't bother...

This hotel is worn and in a bad need of an overhaul. The elevators feel like they are going to break down at any moment while the rooms are old with shabby furniture. One of our rooms had a window that wouldn't close properly so the wind whistled in all night. The internet coverage is good in some rooms but...

A nice, clean hotel with an excellent attentive staff. I stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed my stay. They have improved the WIFI coverage throughout the hotel, and I believe it is available throughout. A very good location. Many restaurants, the zocalo, the market, the waterfront are all within an easy short walk - without the higher prices and noise...

“I stayed in room 218 for my first visit (which had a room safe) and then a room on the 3rd floor for my overnight stay (which didn't have a safe). Some views overlook the pool area (which is outdoor and on the 1st floor) and some overlook the street. The outdoor pool is on the first floor.”
