I went to Taxco with my wife and in laws, they are Japanese, unfortunately we could not get any other hotel at the time. Hotel Emilia is indeed, as other people describe, at a convenient location, near downtown, and has a Sushi restaurant at the lobby, while this is an upvote for many, it was a downside for us, the... I thought it would be a good idea to reserve a room with a window facing the cobble stone street (on the 15th, Mexico's Independence day) to see "fireworks"- big mistake! Couldn't sleep, windows don't muffle outside noises. Overall clean: bathroom, sheets, floor and with hotel amenities. Nice and attentive front desk host. The rooms a bit too dark.

This is the worst place I had ever stayed in my life (my friends agree with me) we stayed here because unfortunately, I couldn't find a hotel last minute. Everything went like this...I made a reservation online on Wed. by Friday I haven't hear anything, I called an they said that they didn't have a reservation for me!!! Then they... More

The room was not worth it: it is small, uncomfortable and noisy at all times. It is true that the hotel is in the center of Taxco, but that is not enough. I was expecting a place to relax at night, but the hotel does not offer that. I would not recommend it at all. The hotel is beside a... More

I visit this hotel in early january for a weekend stay. Every thing looks clean and Mexican Style decoration. Very close the main square which is perfect for Taxco. But...when we got our room, # 26, I notice a low frequency vibration and a noise. I ask for an explanation or room change. The receptionist said that It will stop... More

Whilst we didn't actually stay at the hotel, I wanted to write a review about the hotel's excellent Sushi restaurant. The food was authentic, fresh, delicious and inventive (the tempura ice-cream is to die-for!) The chef clearly takes great pride in his cuisine and the staff were very attentive. So, if you're looking for an alternative to tacos, quesadillas, pizza... More

The Hotel Emilia Castillo, and Taxco in general, were quite charming. I had never been to Taxco before so I only had to go on recommendations from some Mexican friends, but it was a great trip. The staff here, like most Mexicans in general, are warm, helpful and friendly. I had many questions about shopping, parking, eating and lots more,... More

A little noisy but a great choice for a fast weekend visit to Taxco, an amazing city. Be prepared for lots of stairs, no restaurant in location but a very good one at Agua Escondida hotel, a venue owned by the same group. The hotel is absolutely basic, don't expect much except for the central location.

Overall it is a very nice hotel "Taxco" style for an "ok" price. The lobby is welcoming, the hotel staff was very friendly and the location is perfect. One block from the main square with the Santa Prisca church, yet accessible with a bigger car! Beware that to some hotels you can't get with a minivan because of the narrow... More

Very friendly staff, coozy little hotel and probably good value for money because I think that the standard in general is a bit "lower" in Taxco as it is a bit older. But don't expect same standard as in Mexico city etc. Nice location, VERY beautiful city with excellent scenery. If you have the ability take a taxi (the offer... More
