We enjoyed Taxco, and our stay at Las Sonrisas, though Taxco is definitely challenging. The town is built on a very steep slope with very narrow streets. The place is not bad. It's quite near from downtown. Rooms are too small. But the lady who works here is quite disturbing. The service is not good. My trip to Taxco didn't start off all that well. Arrived in the worst storm in history, cab driver couldn't find the B&B, dropped me off at the Aqua es Condida, they didn't have a room but searched for me and found one at the Hotel Melendez (do not under any circumstance stay there). The Instituto is a beautiful setting for learning Spanish. Fully-equipped class space and Natalia, the owner, arranges for qualified teacher(s).
