This was a great experience! I stayed here with my boyfriend while we were in San Cristobal over the summer. We were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the staff members spoke fluent English. The free breakfast was delicious- they offer options of 3 or 4 (don't remember) type of homemade breakfasts. It's in a very central location, being a...

We decided to stay at Le Gite del Sol because of the recommendation in Lonely Planet and were disappointed. +: We arrived there early after a night bus and could get our room immediately which was appreciated. The price of the rooms is very reasonable and includes a good breakfast. -: The owner - who seems to behave in a...

Arrived following an 8 hour bus journey during a torrential downpour. The roads were awash. I was soaked including my shoes. I knocked on the gate and called out to the staff but they were reluctant to open the gate for fear of getting wet while I stood there freezing. Eventually they found an umbrella and came to the gate...

I'm so happy my girlfriend and I stayed here while in San Cristobal. The free breakfast is delicious, there are workers on staff who speak English, the wifi works, and there's even a quiet rooftop for great mountain views. The staff was extremely courteous, and we had no problems checking in when our bus arrived to San Cristobal in the...

Stayed here for 5 nights and had a private room with shared bathroom. You can't beat the price of this place, and it was secure, clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast in the mornings was very good. It's also quite centrally located. We booked two tours through them also, and you can book your bus to other cities...

Excellent service, free breakfast everyday, the rooms get cleaned everyday, the staff can help you with everything (bus tickets, tours, etc). The hostel is close to the center, it has a perfect location. Overall it is a great place and it is not expensive

My stay for 3 nights were satisfactory. A bright , quiet and clean room, kind staff and the breakfast which was not big but OK. I had no complaints. My room was the best in the separate building: the first one after the stairs. It had wide windows and wifi was available in the room. But some of others room...

We enjoyed our 5 nights at Le Gite del Sol. Well located and spotlessly clean. Room cleaned and towels changed every day. Friendly staff and owners. English speaking owner really helps us language challenged Kiwis. Good breakfast to set you up for the day. Room had traffic noise but would definitely go back.

We arrived without a booking very early in the morning, they managed to get a room clean and ready for us about 8.30am which was good. The manager seems very friendly and always wanting to help. Because we had a shared bathroom, they took us to the other building over the road. Still decent enough. Breakfast is pretty good, you...

We found this place via Lonley Palnet. Went there to check it out. The person we talked to even not opened the gate and was unpolite to us. Bad feeling. Not helpful at all. I had some problem to solve and could not count on this "amazing people". Too much Lonley Planet fame, I guess. Luckily there are other good...

“I had room number 1 which has a capacity of 3 (one double and one single bed). I think that three of the rooms have en-suites in their rooms and the other three sole use of a shower/toilet but it is next door to the room. As I said I think the accommodation across the road has shred facilities.”

“At least avoid staying in El gite 2. Maybe staying in the main building is better and doesn't give you the 'prison feel expierence' I had. It's probably best to avoid the place at all as there are better options nearer to the city center.”
