Hi everybody. I spent a vacation in Mexico and some days in Chiapas. In San Cristobal we stayed 2 nights in Hotel Casa Mexicana. We are Cinzia and Roberto from Italy. We enjoyed our stay in the amazing city . The Hotel Casa Mexicana is a beautiful place with a fantastic and suggestive courtyard. Here you can breathe the typical Mexican... More

We stayed there for two nights. Small but nice rooms with good beds and bathroom. The center with Cathedral and breakfast and dinner places. When you stay in San Cristobal make the Indigenous Village tour with guide to Chamul and wonder around in town.

Amazing hotel, located in the centre of San Cristobal de las Casas (10 min walking). Rooms are very clean, the bathroom is good and we also enjoyed the restaurant. We left the room early in the morning for an excursion and we asked the personnel to keep our luggages until we would have come back and they did, very gently... More

Great location, easy to walk downtown. First night it was a bit noisy, you could hear the other guests opening and closing their doors, woke us up a couple of times. The setting is inviting, nice courtyard. Staff was super friendly and eager to provide service. Wifi worked in our room. Parking was located a couple of streets from the... More

The temperature in San Cristobal was hot, somewhere around 90 degrees farenheit. The hotel offers no air conditioning and there are no ventilators in the room. The rooms and bathrooms the hotel offers are way too small, the bar closes early, no munchies. Don't request laundry service, too expensive and no ironing. They tried to charge $200 MXP for a... We have visited this hotel for 2 nights - the service in the restaurant and the bar is awful. The waiters are there to spend their hours / but they do not care at all about the customers. 90 pct of the beers were sold out (you could not get any lager beer of any sorts anymore - and contrary... Long time, well known, beautiful colonial style hotel. Two blocks from down town, half block from main pedestrian streets. Heater, no A\C (no need), small TV, No phone at rooms, WiFi was difficult to access inside room. Diligent and respectful staff, friendly manager. Sure bet.

One of my favourite hotels on our trip round Central America. We were in the building opposite the main reception/restaurant. Large rooms set around a lovely "colonial" courtyard with fabulous local artwork. Comfortable large beds & decent bathrooms. In February it was rather colder than anticipated and had to use electric heater in the room. Good choice of freshly-cooked breakfast

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Casa Mexicana is located in the beautiful mountainous and colonial city of San Cristóbal. It is centrally located within walking distance of many historical sites. We offer you all the amenities, comforts and personal services of a fine hotel, relax in the interior sky-lit garden, enjoying the original mexican art treasures assambled here. The guest rooms all open into the gardens or private courtyards. We built the Hotel Casa Mexicana with the idea of offering our guests a little bit more than just a hotel, our goal was to create a space filled with art, folk - art and the presence of nature, which would be very Mexican. We invited our artist friends, who had been to San Cristobal beforehand, to create artistic pieces which speak about it. And we searched in all Mexico for the very special and beautiful pieces of folk - art which we display here, too. We are very satisfied with what we have realized so far and everyday we put out all our energy to still become better and have you feel relaxed here and enjoying the hotel. ... more   less
