We stayed in this 200 year old colonial house for a few nights. The living area is large and the bedroom is comfortable - although some of the floorboards are a little wobbly! The garden is a welcome bonus. The property is well placed close to a large market, supermarkets and restaurants. My only complaint would be that from 6am...

I had an extended stay of many months (the non-rainy months!!) at the Casa Rosada. The price was negotiated and ostensibly very reasonable. The location was good, EXCEPT it is on a very busy street (lots of local diesel bus and taxi noise), but otherwise well-situated. There are three rental units on the property. The property is poorly maintained (roof...

The location of this house is very good but you must be prepared for the lack of comfort. I stayed there in April and, although the weather was unusually warm, I found the house cold and damp. There was no hot water for three days and consequently no shower. It was impossible to dry the towels. The bedding was very...

We had a lovely time at casa rosada. The house is fully equipped and comfortable, it has a nice size garden and a peaceful patio to enjoy the tranquility of San Cristobal. I would reccommend casa rosada for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday and its a great place to stay if you travel with pets. 5 stars!

A great place to stay. The centre of town is only 5 or 10 minutes away. The crafts market is at the corner of the street and the municipal market another 2 minutes away. You certainly feel in the middle of things. The room had a fireplace and wood always available at no cost. There was always distilled water and...

We really appreciated the sense of being a world away, tucked in our own space. It truly was like having a home, and a comfortable, spacious, beautiful one at that. We loved having our own garden and shady veranda, and being able to come and go through our own street entrance. The two units in Casa Rosada are separate halves...

This property is a great way to escape the hotel/hostel/posada scene. There are two apartments on the property, we stayed in the apartment in back. We were able to sneak a peek into the other apartment, and both have fully equipped kitchens and beautiful gardens. What is so great about these apartments is having a kitchen to cook in, a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Enjoy a peaceful stay in a historic colonial house in the heart of San Cristobal de las Casas. The Casa Rosada has been tastefully converted into two private apartments, preserving their original old brick floors and massive adobe walls, and are both set in beautiful gardens. They are located just a five minute walk from the colorful local food market, and half a block from the famous church of Santo Domingo. ... more   less
