Detailed Reviews
We went on a fabulous art tour for the day with Linda. She picked us up at our hotel on time and in an air conditioned van and toured various nearby towns. Linda is connected to and organizes exhibits for local artisans and has a lot of information about the area, their work and is known and welcomed by excellent and authentic artisans. Excellent lunch experience in a local market as well. We thoroughly enjoyed her company and she added greatly to our Oaxaca area experience.

Spending almost two weeks at Casa Linda B&B was a Gift!!!
It was living in the home of a gracious expert who shares her folk art, her knowledge, her wonderful library, music, home and garden, like a museum of folk art in serenity.
My room was beautiful and filled with Folk art.
And she tops it off with an excellent Spanish teacher who Linda arranges to work with you
at her B&B at your level of Spanish.
Because of her friendship with many folk artists in so many villages, I was able to meet them in their homes and see them demonstrate their art. This would not have been possible on my own or in a big group. This was an intimate experience and very rare.
Linda takes you everywhere from villages, to museums to authentic Oaxacan restaurants and into the center of the city sharing her favorite places.
You will love staying at Casa Linda B&B as well as as eating her outstanding and creative breakfasts and often watching an evening film.

My husband and I joined our daughter on a 5-day trip to Oaxaca, where she was visiting to enrich her understanding of Mexican culture to take back to her high school Spanish classroom. With travel days on Day 1 and 5, we were left with three days to capture the essence of Mexican art, crafts, food and countryside. Only with the capable organizational skills of our Bed and Breakfast hostess Linda Hanna at Casa Linda Bed and Breakfast could we have accomplished so much in so little time! Each day started off with sumptuous breakfasts that varied from tamales to enchiladas to posteles, along with an array of sliced fresh fruit. We'd then head out in her car for individualized tours catered to our specific interests: in our case, that meant going to see artisans at work. We saw potters, painters, carvers, printers and seamstresses. We had opportunities to purchase all sorts of beautiful gifts to bring back home. We tasted Oaxaca culinary fare--tlayugas, Oaxacan cheese and mole. My husband's dream of seeing a pyramid came true as we trudged up Monte Alban. Evenings were a relaxing time to look back on our delightful days, and sitting down to a great game of Rummikub added a touch of home to round out a perfect experience. Peruse the art throughout Linda's B and B, and treat yourself to a vacation you'll never forget!

Linda was an amazing tour guide. Her know of the folk art and the surrounding villages was awesome. We did 2 days with her and saw so much more than we expected. She has a unique way of introducing you to the culture and her knowledge is outstanding. We would highly recommend her if you are interested in learning all there is about the folk art in Oaxaca.

We hired Linda for 4 days to take us to various artist's homes and studios in villages located in and around Oaxaca. We also visited some wonderful museum exhibits and the paper factory. She owns a comfortable vehicle capable of seating 6 people and we traveled with her an average of 7 hours per day. It was clear at every stop that she was well known and loved by the artists that we visited. She had extensive knowledge of their respective styles and there was no pressure to buy anything because she does not accept commissions as most guides do. We had a delightful lunch prepared for us at one of the artist's homes and felt truly welcome everywhere we went. Her rates are incredibly reasonable as well. She made our stay fun and memorable. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to meet local artists and see things outside of the shops and sights outside of the city.

Oaxaca is loaded with wonderful Mexican folk art, great food, churches - just about anything you would want to do in one location. But the ONLY way to really experience Oaxaca is with someone who lives there. Linda Hanna who owns Casa Linda is a tour guide who is very well known in the area and you will never forget your few days with Linda. Her home is a veritable museum of folk art, her cooking a delight and she has that special ability to put together tours based on whatever it is her clients want to see or do. I've known Linda for years and just spent a week with her and what a week it was! One of the really unusual and special restaurants we went to was Caldo de Piedra (Stone Soup) - you won't believe it! Treat yourself if you're traveling to Oaxaca and contact Linda.

Casa Linda was an oasis on my recent trip to visit Oaxaca for the first time. The accommodations are welcoming, fresh, inviting, and filled with folk art from the region. My room and bath were appointed, clean, and complete, offering everything you would want for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Our entire visit to Oaxaca involved Casa Linda. Linda was both our tour guide, driver, and hostess. She took us to artisan villages and handled the language barriers. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Linda and her BnB. I highly recommend her and I'll be returning. Breakfasts were super!

Casa Linda is a magical place with incredible art from the surrounding area artisans. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated with art. The grounds are lovely with a small patio near the casita and larger seating areas in the outside space. Linda is a treasure! She is so knowledgeable about the artisans and has developed personal relationships with many of the families who have been honing their craft (pottery, weaving, wood carving) over three or more generations. The people we visited were lovely and so gracious. Linda is a wonderful chauffeur and offers airport pickup. After living in Oaxaca for 20+ years, she has the cultural experience to make any stay a pleasure. And the breakfast is outstanding!

I planned to spend just one afternoon touring with her. I ended up spending three full days with her, visiting the surrounding craft villages and various artist studios. This time I stayed with Linda at her B and B, Casa Linda, just 5 miles from the historic center of Oaxaca, and spent three glorious days surrounded by incredible folk art and in wonderful company.
Linda is a wealth of information and has numerous contacts. She will take you places you’d never find on your own, far off the beaten tourist path. Her home is a veritable gallery, yet it’s warm and welcoming as is its host. Breakfasts were grand and delicious: fresh-squeezed juice, fresh fruit, and local dishes, plus a carafe of coffee and cookies waiting when you awoke each morning.
Added bonus: transportation to and from the airport.
Casa Linda should be your casa on your next trip to Oaxaca.
