I booked this hotel for six clients of my tour operator, rather out of necessity, since my first-choice option was already booked out (Day of the Dead is a popular time to go to Oaxaca), but I would definitely book it again, and the Parador has now become something like my second first-choice option ... All of the six clients...

This is a really nice boutique hotel. The Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful with advice. The hotel has nice areas for reading, relaxing or having a drink. The rooms aren't large but large enough with comfortable beds and all the amenities. The bathroom was good with a spacious shower. The room was kept very clean with nice...

We have stayed in 3 hotels in Oaxaca, and this was our favorite. All had great locations on or near the zocolo, but this was quieter, and our superior room was larger and spotlessly clean. We arrived late, 11 PM and we were tired, so we were happy that the desk had our paperwork and key ready. Friendly, helpful, English...

In comparison to other places we stayed, these rooms were really small, but you know what - we didn't really care and the aircon worked a treat. This is so close to the city centre it was easy to just go to the markets, then walk back, dump your stuff and go out again. I loved all the birds at...

This is a very nice hotel at a very central location. Very close to city center. Room was nice and clean although a bit too small. AC works well. Bed was comfortable and service was very friendly. We had one dinner there which was not great compared to other restaurants in Oxaca. Overall a recommended place to stay in Oxaca.

I must say, great service and great stay all around. The rooms are nice and neat, pretty close to the Zócalo and the restaurants. The food in the hotel's restaurant is excellent by Mexican standards (please try the mole sampler). The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. When I return to Oaxaca for pleasure I will definitely return there. The...

Because we wanted to travel to the surrounding Villages throughout the week, but also enjoy the "city" life every day we choose this very centrally located hotel. The valet service came in handy, especially since there were street closings, (due to teacher protests going on during our stay) and the restaurant staff was extremely serviceable. I had seen this hotel...

Parador San Miguel is my favorite hotel in Oaxaca. We usually stay in a junior suite because we like the extra room. This hotel has so much to offer. It is located one block from the zocalo which makes it handy for shopping. I like the way the hotel is decorated-many of the pieces I have spent a year or...

The location is perfectly located near the zocalo and main sights of Oaxaca. The service was friendly, professional, and english-only speakers should note that there was always someone available to speak english. The room was immaculate, and cleaned thoroughly every day, including making delightful animals out of hand towels daily (elephants one day, teddy bear another, etc.) and folded objects...

Room was very clean and I love the artisanal soups they provide. Staff is excellent. Served our purpose of staying for only one night and continuing our travel next morning. Unfortunately there was some construction taking place at the building behind and literally we woke up feeling there were going to poem a hole in the wall... Good thing we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With a privileged location, 20 minutes from the airport. In the historical downtown area, only a half block from the Central Alameda. The beautiful colonial-style building has three floors with 23 rooms, including four suites.Located on one of the main avenues in the city, the facade had a grand entry door of carved cedar, opening to a lovely porch with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel.A wrought iron gate opens to the hotel vestibule, where walls of ochre, terra-cotta, beige and cream combine with dark green ironwork and green granite columns to provide a dramatic backdrop for the brilliant bougainvillea and geraniums that thrive in the home's central patio. From here you can catch a hint of the spellbinding flavors of our Oaxacan kitchen. In "La Cocina" you can choose a magical dish to your specifications.Small gardens lead to the first level rooms. A majestic green granite stairway crowned with glorious stained glass leads to the second and third levels. On the second level terrace, you could relax or sunbathe accompanied by canaries in a kaleidoscope of multicolored flowers. ... more   less
