Excellent hotel in a great location. It's 2 blocks away from the Iglesia de Santo Domingo and a 10 minute walk from the Zocalo. Lots of good restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. The hotel is fantastic; quiet, cool, comfortable rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful. Even

Recent stay at this hotel based on reviews. It’s a good brisk 15 min walk to the Zocalo all hills.
Rooms was very small and the bathroom so small you could barely turn around. Much like a bathroom in a camper. The on-site restaurant is breakfast only and was not even open as cook

For those who appreciate gracious Spanish style architecture, this one has it and then some. Arches, courtyards, fountains, and a wonderful rooftop terrace. It's location makes it an easy stroll to just about anywhere that any tourist would probably find of interest in Oaxaca.

We rented the room with 2 double beds for 5 nights and upon arrival immediately requested to be moved to a quieter room as we discovered that the property is located on a major transit route into the downtown area—it’s noisy and with lots of auto exhaust. The friendly front desk

This has been my second time staying at this hotel. I came upon it last year trying to find an economic option while staying in Oaxaca. I loved it the first time that when I happened to be back in Oaxaca, I had to book it again. The owners and staff are very nice and accommodatin

Do you offer monthly rates?
Hi , I have stayed at Casa del Sotano in the summer and loved it but am considering a December trip and am a little concerned about it being too chilly in the hotel at night. Do you recall how the experience in winter was? Did they have space heaters or blankets? Thanks!
Hello, It is a bit chilly, but the hotel has enough blankets, i don't see any heaters but i think its not necessary. Have a great trip!

Hello, My boyfriend and I have a reservation for January 27 leaving January 31. We live in Boston and were planning on flying to Oaxaca on Tuesday. Right now a blizzard (ventisca) is forecasted with 75 mph winds on Tuesday continuing to Wednesday, and it looks unlikely we will make it on time (although sometimes they are wrong about these things.) Can we adjust the time of the reservation if we can't get there?
do you have rooms that acomidate 3 adults
There is mention of shuttle service. Is that shuttle service from the airport? Thank you. Sean
To get to the hotel take a collectivo (shared van) to the hotel. Go to the taxi stand inside the airport (you can't miss it) give them the name of the hotel and address, buy a ticket and they will drop you off at the hotel. The prices are fixed and the cost is around $8 USD. There is an ATM next to the taxi stand if you need pesos. They used to dealing with gringos and it's all very easy. The easiest way to get back to the airport when you leave is to have hotel call a cab for you. Arrange it with the hotel the night before. The cost is around $15-18 USD. Once you get to the hotel there are taxies EVERYWHERE and you can go anywhere in the central district for between 30 and 60 pesos. In the city only flag down yellow cabs. The maroon ones are colectivo's and operate a little differently.
