I really liked this hotel it was small and cozy the rooms were acceptable and the location was great for me although I wouldn't take my mother to this hotel due to the location. it is in a pretty central area walkable to most everything but there is an incline to return to the hotel which might be a bit...

Walking distance to everything you'll want to see and do in Oaxaca. Amazing 360 degree view from the upper terrace. Clean, comfortable, secure room. Safes available in the reception area - we felt no need to lock anything in the safe. The staff was attentive, helpful and kind. Be sure to sample the mezcal truffles and home baked goodies in...

We stayed at this hotel just before Christmas, which I would say is already considered high season but we had no issues of overcrowding nor noise. Casa del sótano is located a few blocks away from the amazing Santo Domingo church and is really close to restaurants, mezcalerias, shops, and all attractions in the city. Really, the location was perfect....

Travelled here for 3 nights in October 2016 with my wife for our honeymoon. The hotel is a great location, 5 minutes from all the sights and bars within Oaxaca. The hotel is very quirky and trendy and looks fantastic. Our room was large but a little bit cold. Bed was very comfortable but the bathroom left a little to...

The reviews of this place all seem quite accurate, but I’ll add my voice to the chorus. We have been to Oaxaca twice before. The first time, we stayed in a small hotel similar to this, but it was on a very noisy corner. The second time, we rented a small apartment, and although it was convenient and cheap, it...

I've stayed here many times and enjoy the view and pleasant atmosphere and location. Now a club has opened half a block away and thunders impossibly loud music until 3 am! We complained to the hotel, the club --who lied and said the music would stop at 2 am-- even to the police, and nothing was done. The hotel itself plans...

We did not stay in this hotel, but we did come here for breakfast since a number of reviewers had lauded the chilaquiles. Unfortunately the chilaquiles were not to our taste. We enjoyed a version we were served in Coba, Mexico a couple of years ago. But the restaurant does have a very nice view over the city.

This boutique hotel is three blocks of the main Andador and Convento de Santo Domingo. Small hotel in a great property. Nice breakfast restaurant with a beautiful Convento view, and a 360 view terrace as well. Rooms are small but comfortable. Main office personnel is always helpful. They even helped us book a great guided taxi trip to nearby towns....

The hotel is in an older building, beautifully kept and comfortable. The room (20) was charming, with a large armoire, desk and chair. French doors opened to a view of the mountains which, coupled with the bougainvillea and plants around a courtyard, helped make this a very peaceful and cozy place. Theres a patio for breakfast (and I think dinner)....

Within the confines of a fascinating historical building, Casa Sotano does a great job. We particularly appreciated the level of service in the cafe, and the breakfast service was good also. We had a ground level room which was a little airless at times, but it wasn't a problem. There are some narrow staircases to negotiate for some of the...
