We booked a group of 6 people into the hostel for a week. The price as stated on the website includes breakfast - no breakfast times are given on the website. As it turns out the group leaves for a workshop at 8:15 am. The hostel announces on the day of arrival, that breakfast is not served until 8:30am! After... More

Hostel has a great social atmosphere. Met some really nice people. Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. Glad to have the fan in the room, not used to sleeping in warm weather, really helped. Easy walk everywhere. Went to the ruins on the bike, great ride and a good way to really see things. Highly... Average hostal with average service. Our private room was very basic; clean but a bit shabby. There was only one shared male and female bathroom for all the guests which was reasonably clean considering the high amount of traffic. Wifi and internet access was free which was good. The free breakfast was a kind gesture but nothing special. The kitchen... More

I've stayed at pochon for a total of a week and a half and have had the pleasure of watching the staff domineer almost all of the patrons. The rules are arbitrary yet numerous and make pochon feel more like a boarding school than an internationally acclaimed hostal. Kitchen closes strictly at 1030, the tv and common area starts being... The price is hard to beat. However, the bathroom is very small. The street where it's located does not show up in most maps, so if you are not careful, you could have trouble finding your way back. The owners are helpful, unless it comes to down to money. We had to leave earlier than expected and they made the... More

This was the best place I stayed during my two months travelling all over Mexico. I stayed in the all female 4 bed dorm, which was really nice and roomy and clean (our bed linen was changed regularly). Lockers, internet (decent speed) and a fantastic (and big) breakfast are all included with the very reasonable nightly price. The staff are... More

We came to Oaxaca for a 3-day short trip. I chose Hostal Pochon because of the description in Lonely Planet and the positive comments here. We booked a private suite. It includes the bedroom (one queen bed), a living room and a small patio. pro: The staffs are very nice and the breakfast is great. con: The computer there is... More

I`m sorry but I could not recommend this hostel. We booked a private room and couldn`t believe that you were unable to lock the door, only from the outside. It was very loud at night. There is a shared bathroom for the whole hostel which no-one mentioned until we had paid our deposit. While we were there there was no... More

I beg you not to go there. The guy, Ilan, actually stole money from me. He agreed on a rate, I paid cash and I thought that was it. Then, he charged me more on my credit card that I had given for reservation. He never noticed me and when I realized it and I called him, he would not... More
