This beautiful building is nestled on the corner of a tree-lined market and zocalo. The internal structure is a beautiful mix of architecture and old world elegance. The staff are all so genteel and nice and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful and fresh - and there are pretty little birds singing in a cage to help welcome the day. Our room...

Location was great, right on the Zocalo. Because the walls are thick, if you get a room not directly facing the Zocalo, the room will be fairly quiet. The staff was always helpful but not intrusive. I was having trouble sleeping one night and at 3:00am went down to the front desk. A wonderful gentleman by the name of Gonzalo...

Clean, simple accommodations proximo al centro. Great for a home base to explore Oaxaca, and the habitacíones overlooking the plaza are the. Eat for people watching. Let others. Pres here request rooms 10-12 for a view.

There are so many centro hotels available but this one is a gem. Very basic, clean, plenty of hot water and accommodating staff. Restaurant serves goo typical food at fair prices. Request rooms 10, 11, 12, 13 for a 2nd floor balcony overlooking Alameda Park and all the action in front of main church.

I paid $50/night through booking.com. Credit cards accepted. Huge, comfortable, colonial-style room. Spacious bathroom, good hot-water showers. Wifi. No A/C; fan instead. Restaurant onsite which I found mediocre. Located right on the Plaza Mayor. Laundry service close by, tour agencies close by, restaurants close by, banks close by. (The best restaurant I found was the one at the posh hotel...

I recently stayed here and was charmed by the old world sense of place, the beautiful indoor court, the size of the rooms, the wonderful balconies overlooking the Alameda, the new bathrooms. All wiring has been completed, Wi-Fi is available, but best if you are near the reception. Food is satisfactory, service is attentive and with a smile. Price is...

Delightful old hotel on the zocolo. While we were there in October 2014 they were adding LOTS of ugly cables for television. 19th century building... cable wires everywhere. Anyway, we would stay there again. Good restaurant. GREAT location.

First of all, this hotel is not for everyone. Don't go if you're a cookie-cutter chain person or you will be disappointed. Yes, it's old and a bit frayed around the edges, but we LOVED it. It gives you the feel of why you came to Oaxaca in the first place. Beautiful Spanish/Mexican traditional architecture. Our room was very large...

Beautiful room. Very large, high ceiling . Clean bathroom. Decent restaurant .Some nights has a show featuring folk dances from all over Mexico. Located right on the zocalo . Very reasonable price. No parking, but you don't want to drive in Oaxaca

We stayed at this Hotel Aug, 2012 and as per the other reviews the hotel is a little dated, and basic. But for all that the location is second to none as it's right on the main square. The Hotels small restaurant serves a good breakfast and as is the rest of Oaxaca the prices are very reasonable. We had...

“Make sure you asked for a room that faces the square. One tip, the doors are locked and closed around 11:00 PM. (We didn't know this the first night.) If you come in late, you need to pound on the door that faces the square. A nice man will let you in.”

“If you are a family with children, planning to share a room, ask for the corner quadruples as these have the most light, with two exposures. These rooms are very spacious, have two bathrooms, and are ideal for a family of four.”
