I stayed in La Casa de la Tia Tere for two weeks in August. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There was no AC but the room was a comfortable temperature. It is located about a 10 minute walk from the zocalo, on the edge of the tourist district. Breakfast each morning was fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, toasted bread... More

Just returned home from a fantastic week in Oaxaca. Our stay at Casa de la Tia Tere could not have been better and exceeded all of our expectations. Being the low season we had the beautiful pool and lush courtyard practically to ourselves. Well situated near the zocalo and centro district the area is much quieter than other areas of... More

We loved every minute of our 9 day stay in Oaxaca and a large part was because we stayed at Casa de la Tia Tere! As Canadians coming from the lingering cold Oaxaca can become quite hot during midday so it was wonderful to be able to retire to this beautiful, quiet, well run hotel and enjoy the cleanest pool... Location is very good, only a few blocks away from the historic center of the city. Staff is very friendly, rooms are spacious and clean. The only thing we had trouble with was the internet, signal is very poor, they need to work on that. Everything else was perfect.

This property is conveniently located on Murguia just six blocks from the heart of the city. Close enough to the action, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. As others have noted, Roccio was extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean, consistent hot water, nice pool area. Most of the rooms surround a central atrium. On two... More

My room was right next to the pool. And a very short walk to the breakfast room. I think the location is ideal for walking to the historic center of the city.mapso many interesting galleries of Oaxacan art were near by. Rocio, the desk clerk was very helpful.

This was our second stay at the Casa de la Tia Tere, and we plan to return early and often. This time we met up with five friends, all of whom appreciated the hotel as much as we do. It is rare to find a reasonably priced hotel--indeed any hotel--in the center of Oaxaca that is so quiet and peaceful,... More

We were on a motor bike trip and were very happy to find a place for two nights with secure parking and not too far from the zocalo. Nice colonial structure with two courtyards with rooms around them and a pool area with bungalows. The room had everything we needed. The beds were very good with a firm matrass and... More

Three of us, a single and a double, were on the second floor of Casa de la Tia Terre for four nights and had a lovely time. My companions are fluent Spanish speakers so we got wonderful tips on where and what to eat from the lovely women who served us such good breakfasts. One morning we brought them some... More

I spent three nights at La Casa de la Tia Tere with a group of friends. Our room (one of the two-room bungalows) was beautifully kept and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and service was terrific across the board. There was a minor plumbing issue in our bathroom when we arrived, and it was fixed with a smile... More
