I feel Los Amigos have got it right with everything they have done. The little things such as actually saying welcome when walking in the door then offering a thorough check in to quickly feel at home goes a long way for me. The ambiance is really nice with a jungle feel inside and a few different zones depending what...

With a cafe, Cafe Escondido, attached, with nightly events, music, poetry, and other presentations of all sorts, it doesn't stop there. Backed by the hostal and the cafe, there are also affordable language workshops offered. The visiting guest can take affordable Spanish classes to brush up, learn and more, and then get paired up with a friend of the hostal...

Though only 60 pesos each for a private room, the place was ruined by the owner who obviously has no interest in running a hostel. I wanted to like the place because of the warm welcome provided by Ricardo, a friend of the owners and the great price (promotion due to a recent relocation) but the lack of cleanliness and...

I stayed in a the dorm named, appropriately, the Insectarium I think it was. I told them there were bedbugs there, they didn't believe me. I then showed them. Response? "Oh we thought they were gone." Ugh! The owner got in a physical confrontation with one of the guests. It was SUPER crowded, the kitchen was small+hard to use.. just.....

I didn't want to give a negative review but obviously this place needs a good cleaning service and people who really care about running a quality hostel. The other reviews speak for themselves and they speak for me too. I guess I need more characters to satisfy trip advisor so I'm simply going to encourage you to find a cleaner,...

The hostel is well located and has a good social vibe BUT its really dirty. Apart from the unsanitary toilets, bed bugs and musty rooms we noticed that they dont change sheets. We checked out in the morning, left our baggage and went out. When we came back to take our bags, on the way to use the toilet, I...

My brother and I stayed at Los Amigos for 2 nights of our stay in Oaxaca. We only stayed that long because they had good parking for our motorbikes, we wouldn't go back. The main common area smells terrible, the dorm room door did not close, nevermind lock, the bathrooms were dirty and had barely a dribble of cold water...

It's one of the cheaper in this town(80 pesos dorm,100 per person private room),may be good if you stay one night in the town, but not more. also oaxaca city it's not very beautiful, it's expensive and not so traditional, the center is similar...

Only dorm beds were available at first, so I looked around at many other hostels. Nothing beat their low prices. Also had lots of comradarie- doing outings and many parties at the hostel, unlike the other hostels. But if your priority is cleanliness, then this is not the place for you.

This place was bad. Really bad. Our room was completely covered in mould, the floors hadn't been cleaned in months it seemed, the bathroom was grim and all in all this was a terrible Hostal experience. The only good thing about this place was the wifi, which offered a very good signal for skyping people at home and telling them...
