Barceló México Reforma is celebrated for its prime location in the heart of the city, with guests frequently lauding the central proximity to attractions and dining options. The hotel's impressive amenities, such as the spa and pool, earn high marks, as does the inviting lobby atmosphere with live music.
However, some travelers report noise disruptions and mixed experiences with room quality and staff professionalism. Despite these inconsistencies, the hotel is often praised for its cleanliness and excellent value, offering affordable luxury that many find appealing.

Excellent location and comfortable Premium Level bedroom. Our room, on the 11th floor, had two large windows with great views and a very large, comfortable bed. The bathroom seemed newly refurbished and it had the largest window ever. Toiletries and towels were good. Cleaning was adequate: a bedside rug was stained and it was not changed during the three days we were there.
We were rather disappointed by the food offerings at the Premium Lounge during the day and at 'Happy Hour'; the warm food, particularly, was of low quality and not very varied. Drinks (red and white wine and beer) were served by two ladies in attendance- who were very friendly and approachable- but the time space for a relaxed happy hour was very short.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful and it had a good number of ready made sweet and savory options and cook on the spot items.

I’m so glad I decided on this hotel, instead of one in the Centro Histórico, which was my first idea. In this huge city, it manages to be walking distance to several sights. The Alameda Central, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and the historic Zócalo in one direction. Plaza de la Revolución is right behind the hotel. Easy walk to Plaza Colon where Turibus stops. Easy Uber to Museo de Antropología in opposite direction. Paseo de la Reforma is a very civilized boulevard where the traffic below was not heard maybe because we had a room on 20th top floor. Our corner room, with big windows on two sides, was spacious and impeccable with a lot of comfortable furniture and amenities. I usually like boutique hotels and was initially hesitant to book in a 500-room grand hotel, but the ambiance, cordial service, pleasant lobby bar with lovely live music, was all had at a nice extremely fair rate. I wish I were staying here two weeks instead of just three nights. By USA standards, it is beyond a good value and actually is an incredible bargain. Exceeds expectations and gets five stars despite one imperfection.....WiFi a bit sketchy. (Possibly due to our corner room location)

I came to CDMX for family business and not for tourist reasons. I have been here dozens of times and studied briefly of one of their fine universities. I was very concern and apprehensive given the current state of the worldwide pandemic. However, I must say this hotel made me feel extremely comfortable and safe. There are stations with hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes conveniently placed every where. It also felt well ventilated. All the staff wear masks and face shields. Room service is timely and decently flavorful. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. The gym staff are friendly and there is plenty of hand sanitizer and sterilization wipes throughout the gym. It was clean and I felt safe to use it. I also had great service at the bar downstairs as well. The WiFi was strong enough to support my Zoom conference calls during my stay. ( However, this may be because of low occupancy)
I’d like to give special recognition to the gentleman responsible for keeping my room clean. I was super apprehensive about cleaning staff entering my room. Gabriel always used his mask and made me feel very comfortable by disinfecting all services daily. He had great attention to detail and my suite was flawless everyday. He was very attentive to working around my schedule when I wanted the room cleaned. This type of service makes me want to make this the only hotel I use when I visit CDMX.
I’ve visited CDMX regularly since 2004 and I highly recommend this location. I hope that you support the hard working staff during your visit as they work during this difficult time to make our stay more comfortable. I also want to send a special message to my fellow Americans. Please wear your mask and protect these hard working people as much as they are trying to protect us. It is the ultimate form of respect.

We booked this after a previous conversation with the hotel staff to make sure it was possible to use the facilities the day of check out as we had a late flight. I asked twice to be certain that it was possible and also asked about the pool. When we checked out we were told this was not possible and that we could only use the showers and the lobby and not the gym or pool (unless we paid $50 for a late check out) I thought that with my previous conversations it was obvious that we did not want to just sit in the lobby all day as I had specified the situation and previously asked about the pool!
The cleaners also were constantly knocking at our room for some reason which was irritating and they also woke us up the following morning doing it.
The room was nice and so was the view but I really do not think it was worth the money considering we booked a room for the reasons mentioned and there were cheaper hotels around. It also didn’t even include breakfast
Don’t bother with this one or trust your conversations with staff online

The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated, this creates and expectation of equally elegant and spacious rooms. Our room was too tight for four of us, a bit outdated, with a window to an inner space between the hotel walls and glass, no direct view to the outside. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. There are two restaurants on the ground floor, both are acceptable, preferred the Japanese a little more than Italian. Pool was good, my children used it twice. Location is great for exploring the city. My major issue is that we price we paid does not match the quality of the room we received. Otherwise it was about 4 points out of 5.

Great great great location.... You can easily walk to so many different must see spots or take quick uber rides. With Covid protocols be prepared to be taken your temperature every single time you enter the hotel even if you go to the mini market next door. I didn't appreciate one night after drinks when I was interrogated by the doorman even though I had my room key on my hand and complied without protesting the covid protocols. That's the ding on my raring. Front desk staff was hit or miss. When i arrived not the friendliest but little by little they improved. Great staff all around, good gym and a nice pool. Oh and the very super nice cleaning lady will knock on your door around 9 so make sure to put the do not disturb thingy 🙂

We stayed at this hotel on our Christmas vacation. The hotel lived up to 4-star standard. The location was within walking distance of the old town, in a business district among other high-rises. The neighborhood looked clean and safe. Hotel has interesting architecture with a large atrium in the middle and glass-enclosed elevators.
The room was large and comfortable. The only issue: internet did not stay connected. It was relatively fast during the week, but very slow on the weekend.
On Christmas Eve we ordered room service since it was the only option to have dinner. It was edible, but not very tasty. We had breakfast buffet every morning. It was reasonably priced and had a good selection.
I would stay again at this hotel.

Based on what I saw in another room, a premium room or suite on a lower floor becomes a 2 star hotel with tattered towels/bathrobes, sticky floors, mold in the bathroom, filthy air exhaust and an inoperable hvac.
The breakfast buffet is not for anyone with a food allergy! Breakfast downstairs and in the lounge, is made of what didn't sell off the dinner menu. The tour to the lake was horrible. We couldn’t understand the guide, we left 1.5 hour late and the van had a cigarette stink. The singers on the boat wanted $100 US. in payment. It ruined everyone’s mood!
I never thought I would say this but don't even consider staying here for more than two days, if you're from the USA. ONLY if you book a VIP room on a very high floor, you will be treated well. The "lounge" by any hotel standard is totally trashy junk food, with potato chips being their major highlight.
The women at the front desk should be avoided at all costs. They obviously hate everyone who is not Mexican.
The spa is absolutely amazing! The quality of the massages are outstanding.
If you have a suite, it will only be cleaned if you telephone to have it done.
The rooms are sound proofed, but not the bathrooms. Whoever designed the showers forgot that it's important that the base must slope to the drain! The fold out couch in the suite is not useable. The mattress springs are quite visible!

The people working in the hotel were kind and ready to help. We went every day to eat and drink wine in the flour number 12 (premium zone) very nice view of the city while you are there. Taxi service excellent. Very nice view from our terrace in the flour 19th. Excellent location. Bad experience in the restaurant Sonora grill good food but bad service to the tables ... the waitresses will ask you for more than 10% on tip. I highly recommend Barceló hotel Reforma.

Stayed in this Hotel in premium level room.
Room on 12 floor was nice and most importantly- relatively quiet, no outside noise, only little constant noise from the hall, not too bad,
Breakfast downstairs was really good, I did not used the lounge for food, or alcoholic beverages, only for water.
Elevators were working very good, never waited too long
Staff was very polite and helpful, specially a young lady Esther from check in desk.
I did stayed before in Hotels on Zocalo, loved them, but have to admit, if I ever return to Mexico City, I will stay in Barcelo, considering location and quietness.
