Right in the Historical region. You can walk to most places. So really good location and felt very safe there. Old, tired, dirty, and noisy. It is a beautiful old building that needs a huge tidy up. Yea it needs a bit of work but that is no excuse for being dirty from top to bottom. Quite a noisy hotel.... More

The hotel prides itself on its old age, but these days it is almost shabby. Street vendors enter the lobby to try to sell you pens or lottery tickets, and the staff thinks that is normal and perfectly acceptable. They speak at best a broken English at the reception desk. The rooms are so-so, the beds not that comfortable, with... More

Great staff at the hotel, excellent location, friendly reception, rooms are ok only and the decoration, well, they did a horrible job restoring this hotel from his original glory at the end of the XIX century.

The Hotel Gillow is brilliantly located in the historic city centre, only minutes walk to the Zócalo, the Templo Mayor, National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, shopping and more. Getting around from the hotel is easy on Mexico City's very affordable subway system or hop-on, hop-off buses which arrive and depart right on the Zócalo. The hotel, itself a well-kept and... More

This hotel is very well located in the centro historico of Mexico. They did not put the accent on the decoration, but the rooms are comfortables and big enough. The balcony worth the extra. The staff is very nice and try to help as much as they can. Perfect for everybody, in couple or with family. The restaurant does not... More

Whilst this hotel has seen better days, it was well located close to the Zocalo. The staff were really helpful - they organised a cab to go to Friday Kahlo House and explained how much we should be paying. Breakfast was included in the ( very reasonable) price of our suite and it was pleasing to see that locals come... More

Kudos to desk staff, Lourdes & Carolina, who assisted before & during stay. Location cannot be beat - Isabel la Catolica St & 5 De Mayo St. allowing for lots of enjoyable sightseeing on foot; avoid touring via vehicle if possible - traffic horrific. Room 609 overlooks 5De Mayo St. Spacious room, sliding door to huge lovely private patio. Desk/chair,... More

Perfectly situated to walk to metro, wonderful restaurants, shops and most museums and murals. Take a room on the 6th floor, 607-608 two queen size beds with a balcony, or 601 for a king bed. To pay $350 USD for 4 nights including breakfast in the historic district of a major capital city is amazing. The downside is that wifi... More

I love this hotel! very central in heart of Mexico City and a nice restaurant with a breakfast buffet with all you need for a good start for a new day. Ask for a room with a balcony,i think that is a good option. Start your day on the balcony after a shower and just enjoy the wakening and life... More

The Hotel Gillow is centrally located in the Central Historic district. It is only 2 blocks from the zocalo. It is very affordable considering where it is located. Sharing a double room with breakfast included was $37.00 per night. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi worked off and on. When I could connect it took forever for a page to load, so I... More
