Well placed in old town. Room very clean and quiet. great breakfast service once they have relocated the large tour groups. Food good and plenty of variety. Local places to eat are also good and lunch and dinner can all be had from restaurants just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Don't forget at reception to ask for...

Ideally located hotel to the old city, reasonable room, street front, some noise early hours with window opened, comfortable beds, aircon vents, reasonable breakfast, nice downstairs bar where meal could be obtained, wall safe, restaurants and bar close by if eating out

A 15 minute walk from the old city centre. This (slightly oldish) hotel has spacious rooms (though the bathrooms are slightly cramped). There is free wifi and the breakfast is decent though it is always pretty crowded at breakfast.

We were a small group that was transiting from a wedding. We had an incredibly difficult time trying to check in. The male receptionist/manager was rude and arrogant. Despite having printed our confirmations and showing him our bedding configurations etc it took some 30 mins to check in to our 4 rooms. Arrived at our room to find it is...

My family stayed here for 5 nights and were extremely happy with our experience! The reception staff was extremely accomodating and informative! They gave us lots of advice and were always prompt in sending up extra towels and soap! Breakfast was also amazing, with a wide variety of food, but just note that the staff (as many restaurants in mexico...

What a lovely clean hotel! The rooms were spacious with very comfy beds, and thankfully a fan. Apparently some of the rooms didn't have this but I'd say reception could provide one if asked, we were just lucky we didn't have to. The showers were a little bit poor, wishing for more pressure or water to find me but otherwise...

Beware of air quality in Mexico City. We were on a tour with our church and one person ended up in the hospital. I was sick for most of the trip. Another woman developed severe sinus infection. The hotel did send a wonderful Dr. He came to me 5 times, gave me breathing treatments, shots and meds. The total cost...

The Hotel Metropol is in an excellent location near Alameda Central and means it is very easy to get out and about and enjoy Mexico City. The rooms are large and clean and the windows can be safely opened letting in fresh air. There is no safe but there is good WIFI throughout the hotel. The area is not too...

We are very pleased with the hotel, excellent location, close to major attractions. Breakfast varied and tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. The view from the window is the only thing we didn't like, not bright. We were on the opposite side of the street view. Wi-fi in the room -GREAT! Definitely to recommend!

Rooms clean and comfortable. Location great. Close to cultural city centre, so easy walking distance to museums and galleries and other sites, restaurants, shopping, cambios and ATMs. Often the staff at the desk did not have very much English, but we found them helpful, getting taxis for us etc. I used the laundry service - it was efficient and everything...

Staying in Alameda

Neighbourhood Profile
Alameda
This beautiful park was once the playground for the wealthiest families in the colonial era, and is now the perfect place where locals and visitors can spend a sunny weekend afternoon to relax or shop for souvenirs at the market. Kids can run around or grab a bite of cotton candy while teens and adults wander around admiring the charming gardens and the sculptures that adorn it. Once the heat rises, it may be time to visit one of the many cozy restaurants or cafés with its characteristic art nouveau facades to cool down and call it a day.
