The personal in the entrance, lobby and restaurant are excellent people with superb attention.
The only problem was too noise aside to my room for the neighbors and I can’t sleep very well.
I recommend this hotel for one o two nights only.
The staff was wonderful from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. They were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The housekeeping staff was especially accommodating, assisting me with an unusual request to swap my feather pillows for synthetic due to an allergy. The hotel provided a couple bottles of water for free daily upon request, but there are a number of corner stores nearby with reasonably priced water available.
I was lucky enough to be on a high floor, which meant I had a spectacular view. The room was quite nice and everything worked satisfactorily.
My favorite part about staying at Hotel Emporio, though, is the location! You are within walking distance of numerous landmarks, notably El Ángel and La Alameda Central, and it's a very walkable part of the city. If you would rather take public transportation, double-decker buses stop just one block away. Otherwise, Uber or DiDi is a cheap, safe, and easy solution. They will pick you up at the front door of the hotel.
Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Emporio and I would be thrilled to stay again. They helped make my first visit to Mexico City quite memorable!
Restaurant is great, we went to breakfast and also the brunch buffet and both were great, highly recommended!
Rooms are tiny, beds are super small. On their website they advertise “extra large bed” and you come and find a twin bed. The AC did not work and the lighting in the room generates a lot of heat. The wifi is beyond horrible, if you are planning on getting work done or maybe streaming a movie you might want to forget about it.
I got a pretty decent rate on their website however the sleep quality we had was not worth the price, I would not come back to this property.
The breakfast was varied and delicious, you could try some local dishes (tacos, quesadillas, etc), very nice and efficient waiters (the custom is that you're supposed to tip them).
My room was small but clean and functional. It looked a bit dated but well maintained.
Very good location.
But check-in took AN HOUR with only one person in line in front of me and three people behind the counter; check-out took 20 minutes too. Arriving from a 500km trip to stand in a lobby full of people not wearing face masks for an hour completely ruins the first impression.
But the geometry of the interior means the ceilings are very low and contribute to the impression of being cramped that you get once you're in your room. We got standard rooms and these were some of the smallest I've ever been in. The use of swing-out instead of sliding doors for all the closets, cubbies and bathroom doors does not help this. The useless floor decorations don't help either.
But the parking lot is not covered, across the street and they won't take your car unless a hotel valet brings it in, AFTER the front desk gives you a little parking pass AFTER checking in. Arriving near midnight on a rainy day, with a car full of equipment you've signed out of storage yourself, you can imagine just how infuriating this was.
A miserable experience, through and through. No amount of fancy decor can compensate for lousy basics.
2 rooms booked end of 2021 for scheduled stay end of February, unfortunately had to cancel the trip in January due to pandemic situation. Never been refund … all required documents has been sent to the hotel on time.
If that can help possible guests who think to stay there…..
Location, breakfast, staff, everything very good.
The rooms are always very clean, and the people who serve you are always aware of what you need at any time, definitely a very good option to stay at cdmx
"It's worth it to get a balcony room on a higher floor. Lower floors have more noise. Our interior room only had a frosted window so no view."Read full review
