I stayed 6 nights at Hotel Isabel with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed the stay. There is nothing fancy about the hotel and the rooms, but it is comfortable, has free wifi and the staff are very friendly. The location is great, smack in the middle of downtown and close to the palace and cathedral. Subway is close to....

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip. Great location for a great price with helpfull and friendly staff. The rooms are all orientated around an interior plaza. Our room had no window and was very dark, but clean. My advice: ask for a room with a window!

I've now stayed at the Holel Isabel (HI) four or five times. It continues to be one of the best price deals in the historical district. Although a bit rough around the edges, it's a great budget hotel. I always ask for a room with a balcony and always get one. The streets are a bit noisy, but I like...

I stayed here at the beginning and the end of my trip to Mexico. I was very happy with the hotel. It is amazing value, the reception staff were always friendly and helpful as were all the other staff with no exception. The restaurant is basic but adequate for those times when you don't want to venture out. It is...

I stayed 3 nights in March 2012. The room was fine -- a tad spartan, but very clean, bright, quiet and perfectly adequate. The staff was great. I arrived at 7am, and went to the hotel hoping to just leave my bag. They had a room available, so they let me check in hours early. They also cheerfully provided directions...

I stayed at the Hotel Isabel for two nights in Feb 12, to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect since the reviews varied widely. I found the hotel to be ok, I had no problems. The positives : Great location (less than 10min walk from the Zocalo), great price (EUR15), large room with balcony & 18' ceilings, room...

I'm in Mexico City twice a year and I always stay at the Isabel! As you can see from the reviews of Tripadvisor, it's not everyone's cup of tea. On the positive side, the hotel is located less than a ten minute walk to the Zocalo. I've always found the neighborhood safe and friendly. The old colonial-style building has a...

The benefits of staying here are the location, large rooms, and cable TV. The water system has been sporadic over the last 2 nights. Currently the hot water tap gurgles and produces a brown liquid. The hot water doesn't work anyway. There have been frequent blackouts, and the hotel's generator only covers the lobby and restaurant. Wifi works in the...

The antique style tall ceiling rooms and l covered courtyard make this place have charm while in the center of downtown. Good value, about $22 a night for one. Safe for a woman traveling solo. Has emenities like Wi Fi (a bit slow), Room service, room safe, tv, a homey cafe and bar. Seems to be popular with European tourist....

I´ve been staying here for the past five summers. It's not the Ritz or even the Holiday Inn, but it's clean, inexpensive, safe, and within walking distance to the metro and many tourist destinations. There is no spa and you pay to use the computers in the lobby. Internet access for your laptop is available. I've never used room service,...
