I have stayed in Hotel Catedral a number of times over the last 7-8 years while visiting Mexico City for work.
I keep coming back because 1. it's good value for money, 2. the location is great (if you want to be near the Zocalo)...More
There is a loud disco/music venue that keeps going until 2:00. I had a room with a view of the Catedral so maybe other rooms wouldn't have this problem with the loud music. But biggest issue is that the desk clerk called me a taxi...More
Hotel Catedral is located just a stone's throw away from the Zocala (5min walk). Rooms are basic but impeccably clean. Unfortunately I stayed in one that was facing the inner courtyard but didn't think this was a big deal. Breakfast was phenomenal and the staff...More
We read your reviews and eventually decided to stay here, don't know why I hesitated. Good sized rooms, very clean, fresh linen, bottled water, shampoo etc daily. Only negative was that the shower had very poor power. We had an internal room that looked into...More
Very handy location: close to Metro (we should have tried the Metro earlier than we did - excellent way to get around!), less than 5 minute walk to the Zocolo. The buffet breakfast was pretty good - we preferred this to the restaurant just because...More
The beating heart of the city lies within Centro Histórico, the vast expanse of historical buildings and monuments that are a must when exploring Mexico City. Places such as the Museo Biblioteca Palacio Postal, Casa de los Azulejos and Palacio de Bellas Artes are the perfect eye candy for anyone seeking to admire arts and architecture. Don't forget to visit the wide variety of markets and plazas where any
vintage item, handicrafts and jewelry characteristic of each state in Mexico can be found on Sundays. Admire majestic views of the city from the Monumento a la Revolución and Torre Latinoamericana, and round out the experience with restaurants of all cuisines nearby.

I've since returned to Hotel Catedral many times since writing that earlier review. The hotel is doing much better at handling reservations and payments, and I'm now completely satisfied with their customer service.
