I was hear for a night last week and found it be a great base to explore the city and get a night's rest. The hotel is on a main street, but the rooms are set back around an interior courtyard, which make for a quiet night's rest. The location is about a 10 minutes walk from the city center...

We had a terrible experience, we reserved and paid in advance (more than a month) and they did not respect our reservation, we had to book another hotel, way more expensive and out of town, they gave us our money until the next day and simply apologized. they offered a different hotel, which was old, smelly, dirty and horrible, they...

We stopped in Guanajuato for one night and slept in this hotel in a room of 5. The room was big enough for all of us and the beds were good... Bathrooms' door didn't close well but that was okay. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good... The only minus was the noise from the street! It was...

The hotel is conveniently located at walking distance from the major attractions -spare the Mummies- say 15 minutes from plaza La Paz. The street where the hotel is located is not a touristic one, meaning that there is a lot of traffic and is noisy. The room in the 3rd floor we've got was in desperate need of refurbishing: everything...

Great value accommodation located 10-15 minute walk from the Historical Centre of Guanajuato. The staff are very helpful. We hung some washing out on the upstairs terrace and whilst we were out it started to rain and staff brought it in under cover for us. A lovely courtyard setting in the middle of the hotel. No noise from the main...

I stayed both here (3 stars) and at Hotel Real Guanajuato (supposedly 4 stars) for comparison's sake. (Yes, I know. I'm becoming a Trip Advisor Junkie.) Basically, Hotel Socavon was not only cheaper, it was a MUCH better stay. The hotel description was accurate, as were most of the prior reviewers' comments. Here's the scoop: Pros: -Cheaper lodging in a...

I paid $30/night. Credit cards accepted. Spacious, comfortable room and bathroom. Good shower, no issues with hot water. Wifi. Included breakfast which was fine. Onsite restaurant which is mediocre, but conveniently open late. Right next to an Oxxo. You will be hiking a bit to get to the cathedral area. Professional staff. An all-around good place, especially for the price,...

Very friendly and helpful staff, willing to make sure you are taken care of. The exterior of the hotel is deceiving, inside is beautiful and worth a look around. We stayed there for 4 days and 4 nights and really enjoyed the stay, especially for the price. Just don't let the look of the outside fool you, there are some...

Ok if you are on a budget, rooms are basic, beds are very hard and rooms are very noisy, breakfast is adequate, staff is quite helpful, a little far from the center . Basically a very simple hotel nothing less and nothing more.

“The rooms around the courtyard are going to be quieter but no windows, room 101 is on the street and a little noisy, but you have a big window to open.”

“Definitely choose a room on the courtyard. It's quieter. Beware that this is Mexico and almost all buildings are concrete or brick so noise travels.”

“I got an inside courtyard room on 2nd floor, but if it's during warm months, check out the ventilation--can windows be opened in a way that gives cross ventilation. I noticed some rooms had different window configurations. Also, is ceiling fan on the highest level. If not, they have to send someone to set it.”
