What a horrible experience! This place has prob. Been quite nice a while ago but whats left is so NOT nice. The rooms are old and not clean, very dated ! The service isnt friendly! I really would not go there again Plus side : the outdoors are quite cute !

I first stayed here 20 years ago, and the Castillo was a bit run down back then. I stayed here last week for work and after reading other recent reviews here I have to agree. The concept is amazing, and the view from my suite's window was amazing. But most of the furniture predates my first visit and a lot... More

Perfect to enjoy the fantasy with my kids. Bought my daughter a princess dress and my son a dragon and a sword. In middle of the sight seeing visited fantasy land with them. Very romantic, peaceful and great place to rest. Food in the restaurant very good. A little dusty in the room.

This hotel takes place in a fantastic and huge castle, but it's kinda old. The rooms are huge, most of them with a balcony and a great view of the city, the AC system consists of mini-splits on every room, the problem is that they are connected somewhere else beside your room and you'll eventually get them shut down in... This continues to be a gorgeous place; beautiful for taking pictures and admiring the magnificent architecture BUT one of the worst hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The service is aweful, our phone was not working, so everytime, which was very often, I had to "report" or ask for something I had to walk all the way... More

I chose it because my little girl was astonished with the legends of Guanajuato and I thought it would be a nice place to stay because it is a medieval castle, she really enjoyed it. But the place is very neglected, kind of dirty, the food is ugly the pool is cold, very far from the center.

The grounds are immense with gardens, caverns and historic walkways. It has two pools, a church, party rooms and a restaurant. I would say romantic and scenic. The hotel has no elevators. There are a few rooms ground level, but most are accessed by relatively steep stairways. Restaurant is on the second floor and is accessible by elevator. The room... More

The charm of it being a castle is only appreciated from the outside. THE BEDS SUCK, HARD AS WOOD, couldn't sleep all night. The point of a decent hotel is to prioritize the matresses as hotels are mainly for sleeping somewhere!! The wifi was only working in the lobby and doesn't reach all the rooms. In this day and age??... More
