Hotel's Favourite
Amazing hotel, perfect location for all the sights and tour pickups. We walked everywhere. Felt safe at this location as very good security. Hotel is very clean and the rooms were great. Breakfast was started daily by us on the 7th floor restaurant staff amazing and the food choices were amazing, they even had made to order items on the Ala carte menu, mimosas and cappuccino was a extra included bonus is so worth the price we went off on our sightseeing tours well fed. In the afternoon and evening they have a really good snack and dinner menu was a great way to end the day with tasty pizza amongst other items and the best margaritas .The restaurant staff were so kind from the food and beverage manager to all the waitstaff a special call out to Andres he looked after us with a smile every evening. I would stay at this location again as it is perfect for your travel needs. They will set you up with a ride to and from airport and they even have a concierge that will book your tours. We are diamond members so we stay at alot of Hilton properties in the states, canada and some in Europe this location fit all our travel needs.

Staying in this hotel four 7 days, and the location is amazing. Our room faces a courtyard where we can see the cathedral. The front desk was efficient and our room was ready early so we were able to get settled and start to enjoy the city. We got a junior suite and it was plenty spacious enough for the two of us. The walk-in shower is nice, and there are plenty of towels. The towels are a little worn but not stained or with holes, just frayed.
The breakfast is good. There is a cook for the omelettes and pancake grill. He prepares the omelettes perfect. The staff in restaurant is very attentive. The coffee cups are always full and the table kept clear of used dishes.
We will recommend this hotel to our family and friends because of it’s location, cleanliness, and attentiveness.

Dear guest. Thank you very much for you have chosen us to become your home during your last stay in Guadalajara, Mexico one of the most important cities of the country. As you could see it our location is extraordinary, the most important places and buildings for their history and beauty are located just outside the hotel, for example the Cathedral and the Degollado Theater, take a walk around is the best way to know these places, at NH we call this Feel the place. As you could see it our breakfast is delicious, is full of fresh fruit, natural just made juices and traditional dishes, all the necessary to begin each day full of energy to enjoy your trip. It is great to know that our co-workers gave you the service that you expected or even they went beyond, every one of them really loves their jobs, that is the reason they are always ready to help you, at NH we call them Natural Hosts. We hope after this stay every time that you plan a new trip ask yourself if there is an NH Hotel at your destination, we hope to see you soon.

Very well located in the heart of the historical district. Very convenient to tour the city and live the beat of the touristic area. The hotel is clean, the rooms are affordable even though a bit on the small side but also clean. There is also a aafe in the rooms. On the downside, the WIFI wasn't very good in my room and not working in the entire room. If you need to use the internet for work purposes you may want to make sure that your room has a good wifi coverage. The plumbing seems to be leaving room for improvement as there are nasty smells coming from the bathroom sink. The smell wasnt spreading to the room fortunately. There is a terrace on the 7th floor where they serve food and drinks with a great view.

This may be the #10 ranked hotel in GDL, but if you are driving a car, it is impossible to navigate to. Oh, and then you have to find parking. The hotel's entrance is concealed in a narrow storefront entrance in an enormous full-block structure, and it's not on the main drag (GPS navigation). It's blocked off by pedestrian-only and one-way streets; I almost got a ticket from the policia for driving the wrong way down one. Thousands of pedestrians jaywalking in front of your car. The "official" (not free) parking structure is impossible to find. In desperation, we ended up parking in a public estacionmento for 150 pesos a day (and were grateful for it).
Just one small bottle of water per room; if you need something from reception, good luck; there was no answer ringing the first time, then answered after 35 rings the second. When I asked for a blanket, she didn't know what that meant; I had to go to Google translation to find "cobija". ("Ah, comprende.")
Minamalist modern decor; no art on the white walls, except one picture in the living room of our suite. Few here speak English, including our waiter at dinner.
Stay somewhere warmer and more charming.

Dear guest. Thank you very much for your recent stay and for this important review on this network. To be inside a historic building of the city is a great attraction to most of our guest, it´s a perfect fusion between the classic architecture of this part of the city and the modern and chic decoration of NH Collection, however that is the reason we could not make many changes to the building for example to build a parking space next to the main entrance or underground, thinking in the security and comfort of our guest we offer a special price with some public parking garages near to the hotel, the nearest one located just one block away to the main entrance, we beg for your understanding. At NH Hotel Group we work every day to bring extraordinary experiences to each guest, we really want to apologize if you didn´t received the service that you expected, we will remember to our staff our brand´s spirit, to make feel unique and special to each guest. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again soon and obtain the best score.

Some friends had stayed here a few weeks ago and suggested we stay here for our first visit to Guadalajara. The location is great to get to many of the historical sites. Our friends suggested we an upgraded room so with went with the "Superior" Suite. The front desk staff put us in a Superior handicapped room. Didn't ask if that would be fine. The room was very basic so that a handicapped person can navigate it. Granted, we were very handicapped in only speaking English but this room was not up to par. The towels were so old the seams were coming apart. 1 tiny bar of soap and one 16oz bottle of water for 2 people. The shower was very large but the water flow was not great. The view was in the back of the hotel with no view what so ever. No guest, handicapped or not should get a room like this.
On the good side, the bed was very comfortable and our wifi worked fin., Eduardo, the service desk person was amazing, very helpful and friendly. He helped make our 4 days in the city great! The staff in the restaurant could not been better. Each of them were professional, warm and friendly. You can get a package that includes breakfast. It is worth it, nice selection of food, on the 7th floor with a space that does look out to the historic buildings. The resturant staff did their best to help us as our Spanish is so bad. THANK YOU!
When we come back we will most likely look for a different hotel to stay in. One evening we accidentally ended up at the NH hotel by the Golf Course. It was like a very different hotel chain, WOW!
Good staff and an ok room. Not quite sure why it has gotten so many excellent reviews .

If you are visiting Guadalajara for tourism I cannot think of a better hotel or location. Many rooms overlook Plaza de Armas, and the entrance is on Plaza Universidad. Checkin was quick and efficient, and was able to get a room on a high floor overlooking Plaza de Armas. They offered a room with a bigger bed with an atrium view, but if you can handle a Queen vs a King, go for the view room.
The bathroom was very nice. Felt very fresh with a nice walk-in shower.
Room was well equipped with Nespresso and kettle which was a nice plus. Bed was comfortable, and the view was 100%.

Staff has to be reminded and told things more than once. They have no hustle. Many things were not explained like to leave a key card inserted at the entrance of the room so everything may be functioning. The restaurant had one waiter and he was cleaning the tables all alone.

We had a great visit at this spotless hotel in central guadalajara. The service was great , they met us at the curb, and we were escorted into the lobby, the room was nice and the view not as nice as last year was still serviceable.
The lobby staff was always helpful and attentive, they helped us with directions, suggestions for meals etc, and in getting our luggage in and out we parked a block away at their contracted parking vendor, , it was very smooth,
The breakfast buffet is spectacular, great service from Gerardo and all the other servers, Samuel the cook/chef, made beautiful food. To order eggs omelets ,quesadillas, and many other delicious things to order, He worked quickly and accurately. the entire food experience was great.
Maid service was great with attention to detail and if we needed something the staff was quick to get us what we needed.
My only caveat is that we had a room that did not have windows that open, and the entire hotel had programmed smells so that the Lobby always smelled exactly the same and the halls another smell and the room yet another. I'm scent sensitive and by the 6th day was annoyed by the chemical smell . This is a choice many hotels make now, they do have rooms with windows that open and that may be my next choice ,, fresh air.

The hotel was in a great location, breakfast was good and mostly everybody was exceptional EXCEPT for one person at the front desk named Elizabeth.
That is the only reason I am removing a star.
She works in the mornings and I have never met anyone else that hates her job as much as she does. I’m surprised they have her at the front of the hotel. Clearly customer service is not her specialty. We arrived at 2pm on our check in day, I was aware the normal check in is not till 4pm and early check ins are not guaranteed. Upon arrival she was not welcoming, was talking to another employee and seemed bothered to come to the desk. She told me we could not check in until 4pm. I expressed that I was aware but had called in advance and IF there was a room available, I understood and was willing to pay a fee. She seemed irritated that I knew that and said nothing was available, but she didn’t check. I used to work in hotels, I know this. I asked if she could give us a call since we would be waiting, she said no, it’s not her responsibility to do that. That I could come back at 4pm. The bellman overheard and gave me the business card so I could call and ask. He was very nice, I didn’t get his name but he had tattoos on his arms. I don’t mean that in a bad way, he really tried to help me and held our luggage.
We came back and someone else at the front desk checked me in around 2:40pm and was very nice.
Eduardo the other bellman helped us during Our stay and made us feel welcomed.
Upon checkout, Elizabeth was there again and I gave her my room key directly and asked to check out. She took my key and walked away. Someone else came to the desk to check me out and asked what room, I responded that I had handed her the key and she just walked away. She stood there with a smirk.
Elizabeth went OUT OF HER way to make us feel unwelcome. I hope she finds her passion in life because it must be hard going to a job you hate. In speaking to someone else that works there, they said there have been complaints about her and apologized on her behalf.

We have been staying at this hotel for 5 years (we visit Guadalajara once a year) and stay every time for 6-8 nights and everything has been Good until our last visit in January 2020. We got a room where things were not working properly and basic stuff was missing daily like shampoo, toalett papper, clean bed lines. We had to ask for it every day and our bed lines were never changed although our long stay. The receptionist who checked out us never even asked if we had a Good stay or did not even wished a Good trip to us. Those are basics that a profesional receptionist should at least say to the guests, maybe she doesn't understand that thanks to the guests spent money she can get a salary and a job. Please teach your front desk staff to be nice and service minded.
